Completed that final pass? To smith? Given plenty of time to throw? Or, does he overshoot
Again. Or take off running,

sure he was wide open, but hurts probably wouldn't of had bama in a position for that pass to win the game.

Never in a million attempts, but he would have flashed that "ice water in his veins" look of his that Gary Danielson reminded us of over and over again throughout the year.

Well, it's a silly question because if Hurts plays the 2nd half that pass never even happens as we likely lose 20-0.

Assuming we are in that exact position and Hurts is forced to play (maybe Tua gets knocked out on the 1st down sack)

This is how the game ends:

2nd and 26 - Incompletion
3rd and 26 - 7 yard checkdown
4th and 19 - Missed 51 yard field goal

Game over.

It's not the throw. It's looking off the safety. Hurts would have either eye balled Smith, or turn his head toward smith too soon, pumps and tips the safety off. Hurts can make that throw. It wasn't a touch pass like in the first half to Ridley. I don't think he makes that throw 50% of the time. So yes, he could have MADE the throw, but chances are he wouldn't have completed it.

What's the point of this? Hurts played his guts out for us. Tua came in and was awesome. We won.

No, I doubt it. Tua appears to be a far superior passer even with limited play.

Would he have taken a sack on the first play?

Maybe. He started holding on to the ball later in the year trying to make something happen. He took one against Miss State that made me chew fricking nails. It was like a 20 yrd loss, running out of bounds in a close game.

Yeah, just in a different spot on the field -- probably to his right.

I’m not sure you are alluding to this, but I feel Hurts would have taken off and ran for it. Could be wrong.

This is your logical answer.

I believe he would have completed it.

And Alabama would have lost 27-7.

Hurts wouldn’t have looked off and controlled the safety like that.
