Early 90s?
We both sucked in 2008 but I’m pretty sure LSU was ranked when we played.

It just doesn't feel right. What an embarrassment.

I get it. I would feel the same if it were Georgia. but just know it is a blip and won't last long. This is a result of the Perfect Storm of players leaving early, Opt Outs, and (I am guessing) the necessity of playing a lot of young players. Add to that, you lost a lot of coaching, canceled spring practice....the Perfect Storm.

Nope, not a clue but leave to a gump to pose the question.

It’s 2020, just leave it as another weird development in this bizarre year.
Now shake it off and give me some of that Shaq gif shimmy shoulder action.

Those all sound like valid, logical reasons to struggle against equally talented teams. They sound like excuses when losing in embarrassing fashion to the bottom of the conference.

I get that, too, and kudos for not just trying to make lame excuses. but in reality, the SEC is about depth. Starters for a lot of teams are very close talent wise. It is when you get to the 2nd and third team that the gap gets wider.
Right now, LSU's starters are good, but the depth is not. Yes, y'all have recruited well, but you lost a ton of talent, that would normally be there.
All of that said, if the struggles are as prevalent next year, then a red flag should be raised. but, I suspect LSU will be fighting it out near the top like always. Either way, don't let trolls on a message board get you down. Your team will be back much sooner than alter.

I also think they were victimized by particular bad defensive schemes. Pelini was not prepared to coach an SEC defense again. Here is another of the drawbacks of this season... regularly LSU would have had a few cupcake games to realize "uh oh, things aren't working" and get it sorted out before they get into the meat of the SEC schedule.
They looked better after the bye week so LSU might have righted the ship.

when it comes to smarts, they've never been IN the top 20...or thirty...or forty...or fifty....

1992. It was so bad it was the JP 11:30 game of the week. LSU was in the middle of the Hallman debacle. Interestingly, Auburn went undefeated the next year.
