My prediction is that pioneerbasketball will continue to be the college basketball evangelist around here and continue to try to convince everybody that college basketball is the coolest and the greatest thing since HD porn.

I doubt it had anything to with UK. The KU chant has been around since the 1800s. Several schools do the same, most of which were in the old Big 8. The Universities of Oklahoma (OU), Colorado (CU), Missouri (MU), and Nebraska (NU) do it as well. I always assumed it was just some regional convention, which has stuck.
