OFFENSIVE
Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

quote:

Accounted for 274 yards of total offense, 17/24, 168 yards passing - 11 carries, 106 rushing yards (9.6 avg), career-high 3 rushing touchdowns (2-yard, 45-yard, 2-yard game winner)

Richardson is the first FBS QB to rush for three touchdowns in a game this season.

Set a new career high in single-game passing yards with 168, topping his previous best of 167 at LSU on Oct. 16, 2021.

Richardson is one of three UF QBs since 1996 to rush for three touchdowns and pass for 150-plus yards in the same game, joining Jesse Palmer and Tim Tebow (twice).

He is one of five UF QBs to rush for three touchdowns in a game since 1996.

DEFENSIVE
Christopher Smith, S, Georgia

quote:

Smith was one of only three starters remaining from Georgia's 2021 national championship defense and demonstrated his leadership with six tackles, including a tackle for loss, and an interception during the 49-3 rout of the Ducks.

This marked Smith's second straight season opener with a pick as his interception on Saturday led to Georgia's third score of the game.

Anchored by Smith in the back, the Bulldogs held Oregon without a touchdown for the first time in a game since 2017.

Richardson over Bennett? That’s a joke.

Yeah they make some questionable decisions for POW occasionally.

Lots of deserving players most weeks. Young certainly had a night as well.

On defense Malaki Starks was arguably better than Smith in the same game.

It’s funnier because Bennett got the Walter camp national player of the week.

He's been better nationally than in the SEC. That's the theme apparently

We all know this award has been tainted for a few years anyway.

Sarah Fuller wins SEC POW

Bennett does have a much better supporting cast.

So, no Georgia or Alabama player should ever win it?

Richardson looked really good. Bennett looked really good.
Young looked really good.

I guess Richardson played against a higher ranked team, so it is what it is. He did well. Congratulations to him.
I can assure you that all three players would trade in those awards for a title, though. All three have a shot at it right now.

Why do you think a miss state fan is insecure about a uga and Florida player?

That's not what I wrote.

But...

Would UGA have won its game if Beck was the starter?

Would UF have won its game without Richardson?

Richardson balled out and carried the Gators to a win over a top 10 team. Deserved POW. No issues with that. Bennett has a tremendous statistical performance. It’s a sculpture and a painting. No need to compare one to the other

How do his numbers against SEC opponents compare to Richardson’s?

Now you know this is misleading.

Smith shares the honor with Arkansas LB Bumper Pool who had 13 tackles and 1 TFL.

Smith and pool are co Players of the week. Did you purposely mislead people in order to make sure your guy had all the glimmer or did you just make a mistake?

Oh for crying out loud. It is like "Coach of the Year" awards. If you just give it to the best coach, then it would be Nick Saban almost every year. But you give it to the most improved coach, or player in this case. And if it weren't this way, BY and SB would win too much and make it boring. Besides, we have a Heisman race for this.

Not just that. UF loses without Richardson's play. Georgia probably wins even if Bennet hadn't played.
