I get that Wiggins may be the next coming of MJ or Labron or Kobe or whomever, but damn Kentucky fans, y'all went too far with the tweets about hoping he dies, hoping he gets cancer, hoping he gets hit by a truck, etc.

You make the SEC look bad. We don't do this kind of stuff. Unacceptable. We're a better conference than this. Shame on your fanbase.

I'll say like I said to the Louisville fan that decided to post this somewhere else. Every fanbase has their shite heels. To act like it's exclusive to just Kentucky is ridiculous. I can remember a handful of Louisville "fans" and a couple Florida "fans" tweeting some nasty shite when Noel tore his ACL. I saw UNC fans wear orange jumpsuits to our game against them when Kelenna Azubuike's Dad got locked up for fraud. Ole Miss fans threw shite on the court when we were at the Tad Pad this season (leading to Henderson throwing shite BACK at the fans). I don't paint their fanbases with a broad brush because of a couple of idiots.

So spare me the "shame on your fanbase" bullshite.

Do you kiss your boyfriend with that mouth of yours?

lol

Well, let's put it this way, shall we?

It was classless and it makes your entire fanbase look bad. Otherwise everyone would not be talking about it on the sports talk shows this morning. All of them, now with an excuse to not only disparage Kentucky but the entire SEC as having fan bases that are overzealous and classless.

Now, it may seem like a small thing to some, (not to most but evidently to a few here), but in the eyes of the rest of the sports world it is both ammo to use against Kentucky, if not the SEC, and a reason to talk about other negative things that have happened ... as is being done this morning.

Our hubris is a dangerous thing if we hope to continue to grow and dominate nationally in all sports ... but especially in basketball, the one sport where we need serious improvement from top to bottom.

Your post proves my point and is exactly what is happening on talk shows everywhere this morning. Other incidents being dragged-up - when it was all unnecessary. Your response citing other incidents is hypocritical ... deflection management. Two or three or four wrongs do not make a right.

Shame on you AND your fanbase. And I'll bet the majority of good Kentucky fans are feeling the same way this morning. I'll bet if we tune-in to WLAP and/or WLXG today during the local shows, we'll hear KY fans calling-in and admonishing their fellow fans for their behavior. There's just no excuse for what they did.

FWIW, one of my Daughters is an anchor at WLEX and she told me this morning that their producer had them do a feature piece on their late night broadcast last night and they will be doing a "backlash" piece on it again tonight.

I'll also bet Calipari comments on it eventually.

Once again, spare me your "shame on your fanbase" bullshite (sorry if you can't handle an adult word).

Why? Because a "fanbase" is not completely represented by a handful of idiots on Twitter. For every one of those I can probably find you 100 UK fans that represent the fanbase with class and plenty of opposing fans who have had positive interactions with UK fans. With as much as you're bitching here you'd think they went Harvey Updyke on the kid. It's Twitter. Where people say stupid shite all the time.

It seems everyone else here can make the adult rationalization that a handful of morons on Twitter =/= the whole fanbase. And I'm not sure why you're thinking my comments are condoning it. If anything, I choose not to acknowledge it because they're clearly not legit fans if they're doing stuff like that (and I'm sure it's no coincidence given their profile pics that they all look like teenagers).

This is like me saying Stephen Garcia's actions should form my opinion of Marcus Lattimore because they were on the same team. No one is out crying to the heavens that the SEC is full of ThugPOS over this. Get over yourself.

And they've done that before. Congrats on your daughter being part of the problem that news no longer reports on real news but instead on stuff like this that no one really GAF about.

Jesus... Those tweets are awful... This doesn't represent the entire fanbase in Lexington at all... It's not like the UK faithful would take to the streets flipping cars and setting shite on fire if they made a run and won another Natty...

Stephen Garcia was roundly admonished by Gamecock fans, openly, and to the point where we eventually had his sorry arse run-off. The two cases are not comparable.

And ignoring is condoning. Rather than shoot the messenger, why don't you just be an adult and do as many other KY fans are doing and admonish the perpetrators.

Wiggins is just a kid. He did not deserve any of that and if that's what Kentucky basketball has come to, and it appears to be getting more and more that way all the time and you are proving my point ... then again, shame the frick on you and yours. It's pathetic.

And here is where a comparison can be made, since you seem so keen on comparisons. UNC fans, who most SC fans despise, were also stung by Wiggins choosing Kansas over their program ... but their remarks were just the opposite, many of them actually wishing him well. Those that didn't simply chose to tweet things along the lines of, "good luck, and may we beat your arse post season," etc., etc., etc.

Never, not ever, in the history of the SEC can I recall any fanbase attacking a prospect or recruit for not choosing their program on decision day. If I am wrong, cite an example contrary to my claim.

Your fanbase just broke new, classless, ground in this regard and it is fricking unacceptable in this conference. Do we bust other players' on other teams' balls all the time - hell yes. But this is the lowest level any fanbase can sink to and regardless of your defensive attempt at deflection management, it makes Kentucky fans and the SEC look bad. If you really need a metaphor to put it into perspective, not all Germans were Nazis, but the rest of the world thought they were. Not all white men can't jump ... but everyone seems to believe that to be the case. Not all women are hormonally driven, illogical, emotional bags of always-right defensiveness, but you are making a case for that stereotype right now and, not all Kentucky fans are classless, insecure prima donnas who think their shite don't stink and that they own every blue chip basketball recruit ... but you and some in your fanbase have sure provided the illustration to validate that common misconception as of this morning.
