KSR

Following Mintz’s return, UK now has its most experienced roster since John Calipari arrived in Lexington 13 years ago. As things stand now, the Wildcats feature a sixth-year graduate in Mintz, a fifth-year graduate in Kellan Grady, a redshirt junior in CJ Fredrick, six juniors in Keion Brooks Jr., Jacob Toppin, Oscar Tshiebwe, Sahvir Wheeler, Zan Payne (walk-on) and Brennan Canada (walk-on), a redshirt sophomore in Dontaie Allen, two sophomores in Lance Ware and Kareem Watkins (walk-on) and three freshmen in Daimion Collins, Bryce Hopkins and TyTy Washington.

Normally one would think football wouldn’t matter for Kentucky, but Stoops changed that for them.

Is the one and done experience over?

Maybe folks are trending away from that strategy now, especially with this portal deal going on. Everyone has a chance to reload quickly now.

Maybe the portal is an equalizer and things will get more competitive overall.

Mintz coming back tells me that for borderline NBA quality players will opt for school to cash in on the local celebrity status since they might not get an NBA contract.

The one and done thing is mostly done with. The top 5-10 guys that would go to college are now going to the G league taking away that advantage. Add in the transfer portal and we will see a lot more parity in college basketball which is a good thing and make March madness even more fun.
