Interesting. I thought it was a foregone conclusion this was moving to a home and home series once the contract expired.

I think it would be better as a Home and Home.

I agree.

You lose an awesome recuiting opportunity every other year.

Good. It should stay there. In an era of dying college football rivalries and traditions, this one has hung on.

i have been in favor of a Athens-Gainesville-Jacksonville rotation. Would love to have another good home game on the schedule, but there is nothing like a big WLOCP game with the stadium cut in half with opposing fans.

you're an outsider and have no real connection to the game. This game is meant for jacksonville adn should never move.

this is the only real argument I've heard to move (mainly from kirby) which is silly to me. As you said it'd only be every other year, is it that big of a deal? Over a 4 year stretch you get 2 additional weekends, so like 6 extra days, to host recruits. That's nothing. And it's not like UGA/UF struggle mightily with recruiting anyway. To put another way, there probably isn't a kid out there ever that has spurned UGA or UF because they didn't get to visit campus on WLOCP weekend.

Florida loses a recruiting opportunity because Jax is an hour from their craphole of a town. UGA actually does ok since they get to move 5 hours south for a game that regional recruits can come to.

Seems to me all the nonsense about home/home was a negotiating ploy.

Not because of that explicitly, but there are definitely lots of kids who would have had a better visit for a UF game in Athens than a Kentucky game.

I am in favor of it staying, fwiw.

The atmosphere on tv looks incredible for the WLOCP every year. It would be a shame if it went home and home

it really would. We've already got the league taking a massive dump all over UGA/AU, if they moved WLOCP I don't think I could handle it.

It is the most unique game and setting in CFB. OU/TX started playing regularly at the fairgrounds 4 years before we started playing in jax so they do have a few years on us. But they play at noon at a damn state fair. Our game is on a river near the beach where people spend a week on vacation playing golf and enjoying the nice weather. And I could be wrong but I believe those 2 are the only ones left that do a real 50/50 split down the middle. It will be a very sad day for CFB if that game gets altered.

I totally understand UGA fans issues with the home and home, but as far as tradition is concerned I 100% agree. Try to be objective with my UF bias, but I can't think of many other regular season games that match it.

Always such a cool event, and the UGA chicks dressed up are too distracting to watch the game sometimes.

Don't know about that.It would arguably be the biggest recruiting weekend of the year outside of Auburn perhaps.

This news honostly surprises me.I could see Mcgarity involved in the posturing but it's kinda odd for Kirby IF that's what he was doing.

Since kirby has been here:

X16- UT, AU
17- MSU, SC
X18- UT, AU
19- ND, aTm
X20- AU, UT

Sure it would be a big recruiting weekend but in the SEC it's not like there's a shortage of existing big games to host recruits. The Xs above denote years we are the home team in jax so even in the down home schedule year of 2017 UF being home/home wouldn't help us any.

Nobody really knows or cares what WLOCP stands for. Just say the GA/FL game.

I wouldn't put UT in the same category as AU.They're becoming about as relevant as Kentucky.

I would assume Mcgarity would've had UF at home in our odd year schedules. Not very difficult to switch from a neutral site.

Sounds like a moot point now.I wonder how much Jax is gonna pony up to keep the game?
