It takes a true friend to step in and stop a friend from making a horrible life decision. Fall weddings are real and need to be stopped.

I duck chuckled.

When I got married, the original date was supposed to be September 9th..we had a game that weekend so I changed it (and all of the wedding invites) to September 2nd so I wouldn't miss a game. I had my priorities straight.

Those SEC Shorts are pretty funny. Surprised they don't have more subscribers.

You mean as far as anniversaries?

He knew the deal. I do not miss games. The end.

If you can fit a fall wedding into an open date, that can be fun, especially if the venues have televisions so you can watch other games. But I still can't believe you were married to a Clemson fan. Was he a big Clemson fan or didn't care too much?

Anyone who schedules a wedding during SEC football season is an a-hole. In fact, I blew off a cousins wedding two weeks ago for this very reason and was unapologetic about it. Bitch knew what season it was.

I'm getting married this fall. I strategically picked the weekend so that there was no football, no Masters, nothing really big except some second round NCAA tourny games.

On the other hand, I have been forced to go to a wedding during one Auburn game already this year, and depending on the time of the game I might be at one during the Auburn-UGA game as well

I'm in the wedding business, and before Saban's reign started in Alabama, October was our busiest month. Now it's May, but October is still big. 10/28 is absolutely the busiest wedding day of 2017 due to UA and AU bye. Yes, some of these girls intentionally schedule fall to prove that "they" are more "important" than football. Others just don't think about it. But either way, there are just not enough good wedding vendors/venues for everyone to get married on Saturdays in the spring/summer. We're seeing more Fri and Sun weddings for this reason.

If anyone remembers the Hyundai commercial from a couple years ago where a couple in a motor home intentionally missed their daughter's wedding because she scheduled it on the AL-TN game weekend, that was my step-grandfather, lol.

My niece got married on a Saturday in September a few years ago. She made sure Tennessee had an open date.

Her exact words, "I knew if I scheduled my wedding on game day half of my family wouldn't be there."

I had a high school and college friend who went to Auburn with me and was marrying a girl from Alabama. This was 30 years ago but they found a way to screw up both teams fans. Wedding was around 5 and the 3:00 game was Alabama/Notre Dame and the 6:00 game was Auburn/Georgia. It was before cell phones but there were a lot of small radios with earpieces in that church. I was an usher so I couldn't do the radio but I sure could ask a lot of people for updates

My wife knows to try her hardest not to schedule anything on a saturday in the fall. If she does, her first question to me is "What time is the Georgia game?"

I didn't go to a cousin's wedding this past weekend because of it... You have from the middle of February to the end of August to get that shite in if you want me in attendance... Otherwise deer hunting and football is going to prevent me from being there...

Huge fan and graduate. We were high school sweethearts so I naively thought it could work. He went there for college, I went to Carolina.

We seriously fought about the two schools. Heated arguments. Y'all have seen my temper on here. He got it a hundred fold.

Open dates can change from year to year, and soon that wedding date becomes a wedding anniversary your wife insists you can't miss.

Get married in April or May. Weather is still somewhat decent, and it's not during football season.
