The Huntsville metro area is a well kept secret. I am guessing that you are somewhere between Huntsville and Scottsboro.

Pretty much nailed it. Live in Guntersville

When Louisiana people say that about their state, everyone (including Alabama folks) laughs at them.

Good for them. I understand what they’re saying.

Only some hillbilly frick that’s never left the state would think Huntsville is anything more than a shite hole

It’s “good” because you can be dirt poor everywhere else and be “successful” in that loser city (that is being used by big business to get cheap labor from stupid people lol)

Perhaps one day you can save enough money to venture more than 50 miles away from where your fatass was born. Maybe even see a city with… 200,000 people! *gasp*

When you ask Joe Schmoe who hasn't stepped foot out of "Generic-city", Iowa, like this poll did, you get different amswers.

Lived in Birmingham for a few years. Shithole other than 5 Points area. That spot is fun. The rest sucks and has limited redeeming qualities.

My backyard has more of an elevation change than the entire state of Louisiana.

I can assure you there almost no "stupid people" where I work.

I've lived in Austin, Los Angeles, Houston, & Washington DC...wouldn't trade my town of 8500 people for any of them.

I work with a lot of people from the Northeast. Most are legitimately surprised when they come south.

And I’ll tell you this, southern hospitality is a real thing. Not sure it makes up for the obesity and illiteracy, but I like it.

Poll is only informative if they tell you the demographics of the respondents. Who are these folks deciding which states are “favorable”?

Weird. Alabama's cities keep getting ranked high in the best places to live.

Honestly, Birmingham tends to drag the state down.
AROUND Birmingham is great, but the city itself was poorly planned in the beginning (layout wise) and has suffered since, while lacking the activities and nightlife of other cities of comparable size.

Birmingham is dangerous in some parts of the city but it's no Jackson.

Louisiana at 30? No chance in hell.

They are at least 48

If this keeps non-residents to stay the hell away from Alabama, then good.

Just shows the bias of this country. Most people have never been to the states they ranked, just their perception from the media which is 50 years old.

Well, that’s just stupid.

U.S. Space and Rocket Center - Huntsville AL

Honda Indy Grand Prix

Hangout Festival

Black Crowes, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell - Oak Mountain Amphitheater (that’s just September)

Antique Boat Show-Lake Guntersville

National Shrimp Festival - Gulf Shores AL

Regions Tradition (a PGA Champions Tour major) Greystone Country Club

Birmingham Barons baseball at Regions Field

WC Handy Music Festival - Florence AL

Auburn, Bama football games
Lakes, mountains, rivers, hiking trails galore
Civil Rights Museum
Vulcan Park and Museum
Multiple award winning restaurants

I could do this all day

The fact that people have Hawaii #1 tells me they have never been to Hawaii. I lived on Oahu for 3 1/2 years. Hawaii is a shithole.
