Do states up north still ship their human waste by train to Alabama?

Agree. Americans were probably like "oh Vegas hur dur" and picked them over randos like Iowa

Living in an undesirable state if you make decent money tbh.

I hope they stay hating this place. I’ll probably own half a shithole county nobody cares about but by God it’s mine and I’m never going to be living in some walk-in closet in SanFran for 2k/mo.

Looks like Mississippi and Alabama tied. 38% each.

I'll say yes. I want you to think we're the same person.

Pretty sure that most respondents never got out of New Orleans.

Must have rounded decimals to the nearest whole #. I'll betcha Alabama was that few tenths of a percentage point lower than Mississippi.

Mississippi will take it, by God. Thank God for Alabama.

I grew up in Meridian, MS. It’s a total hell hole. Alabama is a much nicer state.

I agree Alabama is a better state than Mississippi, but not by very much. Rural poverty is extreme in both. While Alabama has better cities, it also has higher crime.

Jackson has higher crime than any Alabama city.

But as a whole, Alabama's crime rate is higher than Mississippi's.

You'll be hard-pressed to talk to someone from Jackson or anywhere else in MS who doesn't think Jackson sucks.

Go take a driving tour through the Black Belt and you will see why they say that. Litter and garbage in the ditches to rival Louisiana. Don't stop in Uniontown, they have a little tuberculosis problem there.

I don’t live in one of those “high-crime” Alabama cities. I live in a safe, conservative rural area. My town was actually just featured on a popular TV show on HGTV.

The Huntsville metro area is a well kept secret. I am guessing that you are somewhere between Huntsville and Scottsboro.

When Louisiana people say that about their state, everyone (including Alabama folks) laughs at them.

So long as you're aware.

Is someone mad about the phrase "thank God for Mississippi."?

People also vote with their feet and move where there's better economies.

The only numbers that matter.
