Americans were asked to determine the better of two states in a series of head-to-head matchups. The percentage reflected in this survey for a state represents the percentage of "battles" won against the other 49 states plus DC.
Since DC isn't a state, Alabama came in dead last against the other 49.
Your state's favorability:
6. Florida (61% win rate)
9. Georgia
10. Texas
21. Tennessee
29. South Carolina
30. Louisiana
35. Oklahoma
42. Kentucky
43. Missouri
47. Arkansas
49. Mississippi
50. Alabama (38%)

Is this like bragging about not coming in last place at the Special Olympics?

Good! We are full in Alabama The Beautiful. Gods Country.

That's not very nice. Why insult the Special Olympics like that?
I thought liberals were all about understanding.

We are. But for ignorant people we can be a little more lenient.

Weird. Alabama's cities keep getting ranked high in the best places to live.
I guess when you ask experts, Alabama comes out on top based on objective measurables like livability and economy.
When you ask Joe Schmoe who hasn't stepped foot out of "Generic-city", Iowa, like this poll did, you get different amswers.

That's bullshite..I love living in Northeast Alabama. Bunch of legit aerospace & defense jobs. Lakes everywhere you look, gorgeous hills, nice people, no traffic. I can be on the water 15 minutes after work.
I moved here from Midland so anything is an upgrade over that but I no plans to leave here. I'm a big fan

Most of the SEC states are towards the bottom, what have we done.

Nevada at 4 makes this list lose all credibility. I'd rather die in Alabama tomorrow than move back to Nevada for the rest of my life.

Only because people forget about Mississippi.
Alabama is just the cliche southern state most people use to describe what is more accurately found in Mississippi.
