This time around is going to be a lot harder because there are too many good HCs that can get their team a good chance to win a championship.
I remember many said LSU got lucky due to other schools weren't good enough. Those same other schools are now right back on top, and some more are getting better and will be right there to compete. Brian Kelly came to LSU at the wrong time since many teams are a lot better now and are more worthy now than those other coaches you had listed (Les Miles and Ed Orgeron) were not very good and got lucky at the right time.
Now there are more good teams around that will have the same or better chance to get in the playoff because LSU will be playing in a much harder schedule than other conferences that doesn't have a lot of playoff caliber teams like the SEC. That is why it is mind boggling to see SEC piling up on getting really good football programs in the SEC and the other conferences doesn't have as many really good football programs.
Playoff will surely expand in the near future but there is no way putting in a 3 loss LSU over a two loss or a 1 loss team in. Like what we are now looking at this year.

Well at least fans at Missouri will never have to worry about this problem.

1998 Michigan State vs. OSU, Saban upset eventual 11-1 Buckeye team and prevented them from playing Tennessee in the national title you fricking retard.

All of those coaches combined won more National Championships after leaving LSU than they did while coaching there.
6 to 3.
6 to 3.

Bruh, fricking Ed Orgeron did it 3 years ago with one of the best seasons the sport has ever seen. What the frick are you talking about?

Holy shite. It’s your contention that the greatest college football team of all time, just 3 years ago, “got lucky?”
STFU.

Lmao! If Les miles and Ed O can win a championship then BK can win multiple! It’s more about the talent than coaching! LSU has always had the talent just not the coaching! Now we good both

So every coach lsu has had prior to coaching at lsu beat his own team?

….and you fired Mark Richt who was objectively a better coach than those 2.
They were tanking our program to an ‘also-ran’.
Would you be happy with that?

Lmao, repetitive luck. I love it

Yeah, so much better than just three years ago.

Les would have won multiple sec championships, pretty sure BK can do the same.
Besides, Les had to face a generational coach in Saban. He is fading, BK is coming to LSU at the perfect time.

Les Miles 2011 sec champion team beat the pac 10 rose bowl champ (vs big ten champ) big east orange bowl champ (vs ACC champ). They ended the season with the most wins in the country (13-1 bama was 12-1) and beat every team on its schedule. In fact that’s what sucked about okie state. We played a truly national schedule and should have played them and would be truly the “national” champ by beating the big 12 champ. Bama piggybacked off us proving SEC dominance
Others have already addressed the 2019 Ed O

Fired one for a coach that won a national championship and fired the other for a coach that won the West in year one of a rebuild. Seems like two good decisions.

No offense but this is the dumbest logic I’ve ever read on tRant
And I’m sure all those NFL players over the years from LSU just got lucky too?
And the coaching staffs the head coaches put together… yeah just some dumbass luck
And all those times LSU was 2nd in the west to a NC Bama team… yeah those were easy years.
Kelly is coming at the right time. Playoffs give the opportunity to go 2nd in the west and still able to play for a title. Dude didn’t get lucky this year either. They have gotten better with young talent at key positions. Kelly and his staff deserve all sorts of credit for this season along with the players who have bought in.

LSU will never win another national title and it's Ed Orgeron's fault.
The price of the deal he made with Papa Legba to have his players inhabited by the spirits of passed great players included sacrificing all future prospects. LSU will always fail in the most painful manner when they have national title prospects from this point on.
