plus, winning close to 90 straight vs. unranked teams (at the moment that doesn't include you, LSU). Right now, we (Georgia) have a 1-game winning streak at home and 1-game winning streak vs. unranked opponents. Sigh.

Gotta give respect where respect is due.

The streak against unranked opponents is mind blowing

I have to give Saban and Bama respect and credit where it’s due. They are the class act of all college football, even if their fans are utterly classless.

Arbitrary date is arbitrary.

Wasn't Saban's first year at Alabama 2007?

Yes, and also the last time we lost to an unranked opponent (ULM).

I was truly shocked when that happened because that was not a good team. Troy had blown them out and North Texas beat them by 10.

Because for all the talk about "rebuilding" seasons fanbases do, it's clear 2007 was indeed that for Saban. He inherited a bunch of bums and slackers and only took 1 season to get them to ranked #1 and a national championship contender, something Alabama has been every single season since.

Refs are well rested from meeting their bagmen at the SEC offices on their way in for the game.

His first full recruiting class is considered among the best ever with names such as Terrance Cody, Julio Jones, Marcell Darius, Donta Hightower, Mark Ingram, Barrett Jones, Robert Lester, Courtney Upshaw, Michael Williams,Brad Smelley, and Damien Square. All played in the NFL and several are still playing. This explains the big jump in talent from 07-08.
