They are one of the 4 best teams, but as of last week they were out and Wisconsin and Auburn were in. But because they both had to play an extra game they're not out. Just announce the final rankings before the conference championships or expand to 8.

if you can benefit from not playing in a conference championship game but can be penalized for losing in one, they need to just eliminate the games altogether and go to an 8 team playoff.
