I’m all for tooting the Bama horn and all, but there was a pretty terrible slate of games On Saturday. We benefitted from a big name and a game that was close into the second half.

The Illini and PSU game is surprising given its 9 OT draw. You'd think it would have drawn more in at some point

If you kept up with recent data at all, you would know that the reach difference between the two is now virtually nil, considering using antenna is nearly obsolete.
Not so. "Cord cutters" who have been inflamed at the high cost of cable and dish packages have caused the usage of local antennas to surge in a big way.
Maybe not as much as 1977 where your dad had to yell at you through the window to turn the antenna pole to get the best signal... and you were jealous of the rich kid down the road whose dad had a 50' tower with a Channelmaster remote turning motor. But still, more than antennas these days than it was a few years ago. Just small ones on the wall and in the attic, instead of huge VHF aluminum arrays on towers.
Oddly enough, with the advent of digital transmissions, local channels have more variety than ever. One of my local broadcast channels actually has about four or five "channels" within their digital spectrum footprint. Including an all-western movie channel that rarely shows a movie made before 1956 or something like that.
