Louisville: 75th
Ar-Kansas St: 83rd
Ole Piss: 123rd ( )
Texas A&M: 55th
ULL: 119th

This isn't a troll thread, but would like input from Bama nation. Are you at all concerned that your offense hasn't been battle-tested yet? Tua is lighting it up, but against not so stingy defenses.

Thoughts?

What would their rankings be without the Alabama game?

Your numbers will definitely throw off theirs Dropping 50+ on their head won't bode well.

(1) We clearly haven't played any great or even good defenses yet

(2) Those total defense numbers also happen to include us blowtorching their asses, so we are basically getting penalized for being awesome.

S&P+ Defense
43. Texas A&M
59. Louisville
77. Arkansas State
113. Ole Miss
127. UL Lafayette

A&M has an average/above average defense and we had 45 points and 485 yards at the end of the 3rd quarter before we pulled our starters.

Still don't take away that l7u is #78 ranked offense, and #32 defense.

Our first string offense only plays in the first half.

Wonder what those rankings would be if Bama wasn't up 35-0 after the 1st quarter of each game and Saban didn't apply the brakes.

I know you are afraid, but you need to be. Tua and his WRs and still working on their timing. By November they will be fully in sync.

My answer to the question is :

I won't know what to completely make of our offense until we play LSU. My gut feeling, which felt like our offense the last couple of years might have problems when we ran into really good defenses, is the opposite this year. I think this offense is much tougher to stop and it's floor against good defenses is pretty damn high.

I think at worst we play well and move the ball but have to settle for some FG attempts (which we miss) against Auburn/LSU and score 20-30 pts. I think at best we are a frickin wagon and we light up the scoreboard against anybody we play.

FIFY

I have been saying it. Its going to be interesting when LSU punches them in the mouth on Nov 3. Their team has yet to face adversity, and their god has yet to play a full game, or under stress for that matter.

Im not saying LSU is going to roll the tide, but what I do know is that we comin, we comin and we aint backin down.

We've played 2 Top 25 offenses in Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Our defense has been just as tested as anybody else in this conference.

Louisville gave up 28 to FSU who is anemic offensively and ranked 111th in ppg. Also gave up 27 to UVA who is 72nd in ppg. So they arent exactly stout.

Arkansas State seems like a middle of the pack sun belt defense.

Ole Miss is just plain awful.

aTm looks to be pretty solid defensively.

ULL is almost as bad as ole miss.

The strange part about the schedule is that you'll be playing 3 really good defenses in the last 4 weeks of the season.

Alabama wont score under 30 all year. And Lsu aint putting up 30 against us. Tua plays 4 QTRs Bama will put up 40+ in every game except maybe Lsu, barn and uga. But even then, we will score 30-35

Honestly, we have no idea. I had hoped Texas A&M would answer some questions, but honestly it only appears that Alabama is leagues better than Clemson at this time. A&M is a hard one to figure out, because they're two worst games defensively were against the #1 and #32 scoring offenses. Against non-Bama, Texas A&M is giving up 15.5 ppg. That would put them at #14 in scoring defense. Instead they are #44.

Regardless of the opponents defensive rankings, my takeaway from watching the games was Bama could score at will against them. The only thing that slowed the scoring was Bama substituting the back ups.
