Of course, ten years down the line when ND is thinking Saban is retired

Might as well schedule any other non P5, Notre Dame died decades ago.

They just know they have to keep scheduling elite matchups to keep the brand alive.

Pretty low T of Bama to let those losers get the first home game.

They played in the Natty just five years ago

Right and we saw how legitimate that was.

Depends on your interpretation of "was in."

I loved the trip up there this fall, one of my all-time favorite football trips I've taken. Would highly recommend any bama fan to go.

How legitimate it was? They were undefeated. Who would’ve been a more legitimate option?
I don’t expect a state fan to grasp the concept of tradition and why Notre Dame isn’t “any other P5 school”
Regardless of the thrashing they took (happened a few times in the BCSNC) it was still a legitimate appearance. They lost by 28, LSU lost by 21 the year prior. Was that illegitimate too?

Bama has played in South Bend but this will be a first for the Irish to appear in TTown, they have come to Bham and Legion Field. Bear used to schedule some pretty good out of conference matchups and that continued in the Perkins and Curry era.

In year 5 since Miles has replaced Saban at the Capstone, the mad hatter will lead the Tide into South Bend for a matchup with Notre Dame.

Jokes on ND, we're going to prop Saban up Paterno style.

I'm not the guy that said it, but I don't think the guy meant "legitimate" as in they shouldnt' have bene there, I think he meant eveyrone with eyes that had watched them all season knew they weren't 1 of the 2 best teams in the country. Their regular season reminded me of 2002 Ohio State, barely skating by against bad teams, should have lost a couple, but kept winning and ended up undefeated.
I mean look at that ND season:
3 point win over purdue
3 point win over BYU
3 point win over pitt (3 OT)
They had some good wins too but I mean they did not seem like a national title contender. And when the game came it turned out like everyone thought.
