Alabama's only challenge this year is going undefeated against the spread. A 2 loss team with a spread win against alabama could make the playoff this year.

I vote no. They are good, but are not unbeatable. I do think only UGA in the SEC has enough talent to have a decent shot at knocking them off, and then a couple of other teams around the country (tOSU and OU). The other teams have little or no chance. Maybe LSU because of their defense, but I don't think they can score enough. Same with Auburn and State.

If the 86 Bears and 91 UNLV could lose you bet your arse Bama can.

My take also. Well thought out.

We will find out when they play AU most likely. That will be the best team they face although LSU at home will have a punchers chance.

It's unarguably stupid to call a season after week three.

It's football. Too many possibilities.

LSU, Auburn and State will all provide varying degrees of challenges that test different parts of our team.

Playing LSU in Baton Rouge will be our offenses biggest test IMHO. Playing Auburn will, assuming Auburn improves and figures out their OL and RB situation, will probably be the biggest all around challenge. State is kind of a wild card, I want to see them against some good teams before I figure out what to think. And then, if we somehow get through all of that, we'll play Georgia. And then, if we somehow get through that, we'll play some combination of Clemson/Ohio State/Oklahoma/etc.

So, suffice to say, there is a lot of frickin football left.

OU 03, Miami 02.. and a few other seemingly unbeatable teams have not ended up winning it all, so we’ll see you still have to play the games.

They do look the part though. Seems like it would take some kind of flukish game for them to drop one.

Agree with all of that.

LSU missed that fg, doesnt get the PI call, doesnt convert the 4th and long, ref calls the PI on Greedy, etc, no one would even argue AU is bamas biggest challenge.

Typical over reaction. AU is still fine and will get better each week as the online and running backs figure shite out. By November we will be as good or better than any team in the country not named bama.

Then we will see how we measure up against bama after we beat UGA.

Depends on how the defense comes along. If it ends up being as good as usual, this will be the best Saban team of all time.

Everybody loves offense. We knew this Bama offense was going to be a juggernaut going into the season. It is. But, that's not necessarily better than a defense that allows nothing, like the 2011 team.

Congrats on the win.

I'm over it. We will be fine and the loss will make us better faster.

The offense truly looks to have potential to be really special. But, until the level of competition increases, the season endures a bit more, and injuries and Murphy's Law shake things out, we won't really know.

The defense is very talented. But, they are also very young and a few key injuries at certain positions could greatly affect their performance.

The Special Teams, short of the return game in Waddle, are almost horrendous.

So, are they are really good team, yes. Do they have the potential to be a truly great team, yes. Are they the best team ever, who the hell knows... it's only been three games.

Thinking about this more I think the only way to beat Bama this year will be a shootout. I think they score at least 28 or 35 even against a top flight defense.

That limits the pool of capable teams. It will be fun to watch.

No team is unbeatable... period.

This current Bama offense roster looks very promising though. If you take a look at all the targets and who is scoring from WRs to RBs to QBs there are a lot of weapons. While they are off to a great start scoring 50+ in the first three games you definitely have to take into consideration the team defenses they have played (not much), but the expectation is that they threw up 50+ points was expected.

The defense isn't as strong as some years in the past which needed a strong defense (because offense wasn't there) but it's good enough (maybe not as good as LSU's defense) but again good enough! The good thing to see is that while early prognosticators thought their weakness may be the secondary these young guys have turned out to be quick learners and very talented (Big, Fast and athletic). But the defense overall does not have the depth needed to be the best of all time... not even close, but coupled with a really good offense and special teams play this team will be very difficult to beat.

I think LSU at home will give the best game because of their elite defense, but LSU's offense won't be able to keep up.. mostly because while Bama's defense isn't as good as LSU's Bama's defense is good enough to stop LSU's offense. And Tua is able to spread the ball around the field with 5 or 6 targets and can run. Also having 4 running backs won't tire as quickly; fresh legs never hurts, right? Plus Tua passing and Hurts running... at some point Hurts may come in and you think he's going to run but he is getting much better at passing too. There could be some surprises coming!

Injuries to any of Bama's defensive guys and the defense takes a dive fairly quickly; especially DBs. Fingers crossed.

I think LSU, GA, M State, AU and Bama will represent the SEC very well this year. Anyone can beat anyone at any time.
