Will likely pull further ahead after this season. No Lsu linebackers could currently start at Alabama

MSU alums aren’t allowed here. So Billy is ruled out

That leaves the Linebacker U. competition to two SEC powerhouses: Alabama and LSU, who have each put a dozen linebackers into the NFL since 2010.

Guess that means nothing to you......"Ted"

Jabril Cox might have something to say about that.

The Tide’s five first-rounders give them the edge, making them the new Linebacker U.

Who?

Jabril Cox could enter the 2021 NFL Draft as the most accomplished linebacker prospect in the class. He was a three-year starter at North Dakota State and was one of the most important defensive players on back-to-back-to-back FCS National Championship teams.

If Cox can prove himself against the best college football players in the country, his 2021 NFL Draft stock will go through the roof.

Cox has the ideal skill-set for a modern NFL linebacker. He is a long and athletic defender who easily ranges from sideline-to-sideline. He is a twitchy and explosive athlete who closes on the ball carrier quickly and shows impressive range as a tackler.

Cox’s combination of quickness, length and athleticism allows him to consistently shine in coverage and he will be able to defend a wide range of offensive players at the next level.

This move to LSU gives Cox the eliminate any questions about his game. If he can shine in his only season at LSU, the sky is the limit when it comes to his 2021 NFL Draft stock.

So this article is from April 6, before the April 23 draft.

SI uses their own scoring system to come up with the point totals.

As you may have noticed, Alabama outscores LSU by 3 points.

You may have also noticed that each school gets 3 points for every linebacker taken in the first round, not in the top 10.

Well Bama had ZERO linebackers taken in the first round in the 2020 draft and LSU had 1, Patrick Queen.

Therefore, since no other accolades have been distributed since the draft, the scoring at this point would stand even at:

44-44

So in other words, you picked a bad date to boast on this "win" that LSU has actually evened up with Bama on at this point and will likely exceed them by the end of the season.

But hey

Congrats for having a better Linebacker history by 3 points prior to the April 2020 NFL draft, i guess.

ETA: There's also points given to players for starting a certain amount of games for their respective teams. I won't add up the starts for each Bama and LSU player in the league, but considering LSU appears to have more Linebackers starting this season than Bama, it's logical to conclude that after 1 game of this NFL season, LSU players have increased their start total while Bama players have not which would mean that LSU has surpassed Bama's point total altogether.

So once again, dumb post.
