14-0 with (1-6) Colombia coming to town this weekend. Can you say 17-0? Might even be 18-0 to start SEC play. I don't believe that has happened since A&M did it in 2015. Ags started 5-0 in conference play too.
The polls are starting to take notice. The Tide is ranked #18 to #21 across multiple rankings. Is Bama baseball back?

Don't they usually do well in OOC then completely fall apart in conference play? I feel like that has been their MO recently.

Jim Wells thought he had brought bama back. Recall just how long that thought lasted ? LSU opens conference play with the aggies, the hawgs & those guys in the funny colored uniforms. How many wins against these 3 teams does your 17-0 record translate to ?

We've gone 13-17 the last 2 seasons. We completely fell apart back when our rosters were bottom half of the A-Sun quality post-Goff. Now we're just ok but not good enough.
This is the deepest and most talented team he's had by far to date. But our OOC has been a joke so we won't know how good until conference play starts.

We have jumped out to a great record for like the last 4 years only to get bitchslapped once conference play started

It sucks, but a bunch of those teams are as good as Seattle, Portland, Elon, Wright State, FIU, South Florida, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Princeton, Central Arkansas, Eastern Illinois, VMI, ULM, etc.....and other SEC teams lost those games.
So, it's not completely without merit. And we're winning by an average run differential of like +7, so they aren't close games.
Either way we won't know anything until we go to Gainesville.

It's rare that I have not heard of a school on someone's schedule. Can't say I have ever heard of High Point.

They've been in the Big South for 25 years. They play SEC teams in baseball and basketball quite often.

High Point was a last minute addition after the series at Pepperdine was cancelled due to severe weather.

Their schedule has been embarrassingly terrible not having played a single team with a winning record currently, but, still going 14-0 is tough to do in baseball, would have figured they would have dropped 1 or 2 games so far. They've beaten every team by 4+ runs except a 2 run win over High Point and 2 run win over Illinois-Chicago so thats something.
Really wont know anything about them till conference play though.
