After Burrow set a passing record at Texass and had his 3 starting WRs each go over 100 yards receiving, there was no way Texass was getting another home game vs a SEC team in primetime.

If I put a red beans and rice recipe on here, do you think you could bring it back to Joe Burrow?

Lol I was at that game and it was a great time despite Texas coming up short. Honestly probably why Texas fans want this game at night instead of the morning to begin with.

I don't think this has anything to do with the want for "primetime", as 11 a.m. CST is Fox's prime slot to begin with, and Texas fans know that those primetime night spots will be there when they field a better team.

I think this objection by the fans is based on the fact that the people who sat in 100+ degree heat against ULaLa last year, in addition to multiple 11 a.m. Big 12 games on Fox, don't want to roast in the Texas sun in September when they're playing in one of the bigger games of the week that day.

I remember watching that live. Such an odd kick, and nobody on the planet, including the kicker, thought that had any shot of splitting the uprights. Absolutely wild game-winner.

Tech fans I know are still extremely butthurt about that game to this day.

If I remember right Keith Brown's knee was actually on the ground when he caught that WR screen he took for a TD early in the game (which turned out to be our only TD). I was at the game so I didn't know it at the time but I remember seeing replays later. Good thing because our offense couldn't move the ball to save our lives the 2nd half of the season after Prothro broke his leg and we lost a few OL.

That Alabama defense was loaded with great overlooked/underappreciated upperclassmen - DeMeco Ryans, Roman Harper, Mark Anderson, Wallace Gilberry, Charlie Peprah all had between All-Pro and very solid NFL careers.

If it’s a game winner and good it’s beautiful.

Jamie Money Christensen was born to make game winning kicks.

Holy shite you are right, it was 11 AM EST

I remember mixing whiskey and cokes in the hotel van ride from Downtown Dallas over to the State Fairgrounds with a bunch of old folks fans. Now that you mention the game was at 10 AM local time and this was at like 845 AM, their reactions make a lot more sense in hindsight

No judgment here. Gameday morning drinks are always a favorite of mine.

That bowl trip was the pinnacle of our college student era of Alabama football

And I assume you specifically knew that Cotton Bowl start time due to 2003 and/or 2009

After Sam passed for 401 yards and 4 TD's, with Duvernay torching LSU's vaunted DB's for 12 REC, 154 YDS & 2 TD, ... The QB's combined for 62 of 86 (72%) for 872 yards and 8 TD's, w/ Burrow throwing the only pic. Too bad Ingram dropped a 2 yard pass that should have been a TD.

It was a great game that LSU put away with less than 2 minutes in the game. NONE of the LSU people around us talked shite during the game, and not many after.

You must of been the drunk POS sitting in his puke propped up against the wall that missed most of the game because you were too drunk to stand up.
