Sad to think that Saban will probably not be coaching then. But then again, not too sad about that.

Loads of info. Great post.

But hopefully this encourages Auburn to step it up and get some work done on our own stadium

Imagine if that went 100% to endowment to fund scholarships!

Literally it would double their current endowment.

Saban himself donated $1 million to the cause.

4 seats in Loge
150,000 upfront
16,000 each year after
(probably does not include the ticket price)

So, in 10 years a fan would drop
150,000 upfront
160,000 sum of annual for decade
310,00 = total coast

229,400 = median price for a home in Alabama

Yet AD's wonder why attendance is falling at sports venues across the country.

Alabama was jealous of Auburn's widescreen TV. Now Alabama has to get one.

NYU just raised $400 million and is giving 100 students a year full scholarships to medical school, forever.

Jesus here we go..

What’s so hard to understand about the fact that half of the people who pour money into a school’s athletics did not even go to school there?? These people are giving their hard earned dollar to see the athletic programs succeed. It’s not the AD’s job to fund raise for academia. That is another person’s job entirely.

First up is the pool. From personal experience the attendance couldn't get any lower.

That stadium renovation looks amazing. Not sure if it's just a concept or what not. Looks like they'd actually remove quite a bit of seats to fit that huge screen? BDS would no longer be in the 100k club!

Dabo will benefit by coaching at two schools that have produced major upgrades to their football facilities.

I’m very okay with NYU producing healthcare professionals & Bama focusing on athletics.

Forest Gump is not on my preferred list of candidates making any life sensitive decisions on my part.

Someone should tell them to get their priorities straight.

This is no longer a big deal in the world of CFB today. I’d rather have a Mack daddy Jumbotron screen and nice suites.

No

The bigger point is using 1 to fund the other.

Face it many of these big projects go to the hands of a few construction companies at inflated costs. The cost is passed onto the fans. We are fast approaching the point will exceed the revenue streams and the bubble will burst and the schools will have debt they can not service.

Just ask Tennessee how that went for them.

The problem with the sports arms race is that eventually it will lead to mutual destruction of everybody and no future generations to foot the bills. Bankruptcy on your person is one thing but imagine if it is the state or a quasi state entity like a university. Sure you can say that will never happen but ask folks from Detroit how that went for them.
