They have each other to thank.

Both teams resurgence was started with the goal of building a team that could beat the other.

Saban has said he modeled his Alabama team to beat LSU. That model became a dynasty.

Orgeron stated the exact same thing when he got the LSU job. He had to build a team that could beat Bama.

Even before the 29-0 game, Orgeron said he was getting close, but the lines weren't there yet.

I hope this leads to an LSU dynasty.

Basically: Game recognises Game.

ETA: maybe it's not a rivalry. Maybe there's just too much respect between the two programs for that.

LSU has beaten Alabama once in 9 years.

Once.

Congrats on the title. It doesn't make us equals.

Good. We're in agreement then.

It won’t. LSU has the lowest returning production in CFB and will likely get beat by at least 4 SEC teams

I'll finally get to experience what it feels like to be an Aggy fan.

And 9 out of 20 times over the last 20 years— you know the actual parameter of this conversation?

Or we can go all time which would be the best metric

Alabama 53 wins
LSU. 26 wins
5 ties

Ouch

Well, they should have been stripped of that AP bullshite since they were stripped of their national title on 2004. Since it wasn't a BCS title for them in 2003, that's why it wasn't recouped.

Apparently games 9 years ago with a completely different staff and coaches count so let’s do since the turn of the century.

Since 2000

LSU is 10-11 vs A1abana

LSU has 3 national titles with 3 coaches
A1abana has 5 national titles with 1 coach

We also played each other for another in the same year that we beat you at your house. That game goes the other way and it’s 4 national titles to 4 national titles.

We’re the reigning king. The Geauxlden Era has just begun.

You ever get around to starting that petition for offensive names? A&blM is so woke. You and Kellen Mond are truly a beacon of leadership for the far left.

This is adorable. Especially coming from A1abana fans

2009- Colt McCoy goes down and you were lucky to bear Garrett Gilbert. Colt doesn’t get hurt and y’all lose by double digits

2011- backdoored your way into the natty even though you lost at home and couldn’t even win your division

2012- Should have been Ohio State vs Notre Dame bud A1abana got lucky that Ohio State was on some bullshite probation

2018- See 2011. Also needed a miracle heave on a blown coverage to win.

A1abana has an asterisk by 4 of these titles

Since the so-called "modern era" of college football began in 1980...

(Teams with multiple national championships)

Alabama: 6 national championships
Miami: 5 national championships
Clemson: 3 national championships
Florida State: 3 national championships
Florida: 3 national championships
LSU: 3 national championships
Nebraska: 3 national championships
Ohio State: 2 national championships
Oklahoma: 2 national championships
Penn State: 2 national championships

I know you gumps have small brains and cant remember stuff but here is the record for the last 20 yrs as the OP stated...

LSU 10-11. Yeah, you all had the 8 game streak but LSU owned the period of 2000-11 where we went 9-3 and 7-1 in side that period. Also won two NC's in that time.

The only thing that got you guys out of the trailer park was stealing our coach!
