I thought this was a throwback thread to the 1981 Alabama-LSU season opener on ABC (24-7 Alabama rout).

Me too. Needed a 'both' before 'open' to make it obvious. And I was thinking that moving the LSU/Bama game to the opening weekend would be an epic idea, assuming somebody rights the ship at LSU. It'd start the CFP race with a bang.

A lot of unknowns. Jawon Pass will be the starter replacing Lamar Jackson. Big QB, strong and a great arm. Not as mobile as Jackson. Should be fine at WR. Oline returning is experienced. Biggest unknown is the defense with a new DC. Can't be any worse than Peter Sirmon was last year.
