I will stand by my projection.

In the West:

Bama (nobody will touch us)

quote:

Nagy, who joined me and Lee Shirvanian on Monday during “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5, attended the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend. To say Stevens caught Nagy’s eye would be an understatement.

“The guy that really popped out was Tommy Stevens, the transfer from Penn State,” Nagy said. "I had forgotten he had landed at Mississippi State.

“The first round of drills I thought the Mississippi State kid was throwing it the best, and I looked over at (QB Country’s) David Morris and I was like ‘Who is the Mississippi State kid?’ And he goes, ‘that’s the transfer from Penn State.’ I go, 'Wow, Mississippi State fans should be excited. That kid can really throw the ball. He’s big. In talking to him, he has a lot of presence about him. I think Mississippi State got themselves a real quarterback.”

“After watching him thrown, I can’t believe (Penn State coach James) Franklin let him out the door in Happy Valley. That’s crazy to me. The kid’s talented.”

Remember when State was loaded last year and they were supposed to win 10 games? I do...

I'm highly skeptical. They had the best defense in the nation last year, and lost a LOT. I just don't see how they can lose that much and still be better.

They've beaten A&M more than y'all have beaten them...I honestly do not understand all of the A&M hype, y'all had the same record as MS State, but actually worse in regular-season conference play. Y'all evened out after the bowl game. State lost three guys. How many players are on a football team?

The problem with Mississippi State is the surrounding cast.

Isn't that the same with most (all) fanbases? Jimbo is the biggest attraction at A&M...hope he doesn't have a heart attack on the sidelines with all of his fit throwing.

The defense won't be #1 in the nation again, but they will be solid.

Stevens won't have anyone to throw to is the problem. Kylin Hill out of the backfield isn't going to light it up. The K-State transfer is good, but teams will just lock him down because we don't have another SEC-caliber receiver.

Plus throwing the ball is only part of the puzzle. It might end up he gets on the field and it's like "oh that's why".

"Yes that's good, but we stuck cause we are state".

Man, you will have the best receiving Corp you have ever had and a Qb that knows one of the most explosive offenses in the nation.

Grow some hair on your arse

Unfortunately Moo State is bankrupt on defense and teams will plow them under...7-5 is the ceiling.

Uh ya I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. People can anoint him all they want, but this was the guy that couldnt beat out T. Mcsorley?

Mcsorley was 31-9 as a starter in a crap league. His career completion % is under 60%. He went in the draft in the sixth round.
6th.

And he was better than Stevens? Ya not feeling too wooly here.

Will he be better than KT? Sure.
Is that saying much? Don't think so.

10-2 was their absolute worst case scenario. Supposedly.
