What happens at Fish Camp? Where does it take place? What "activities" occur?

Jizz Jar is an urban legend on tRant and Texas boards. I'm 2nd Generation Aggie and my Dad was a Yell Leader and Class Agent and neither my Dad nor I had ever heard of them.

It comes from a Paul Burka trash article in t.u. Monthly. His source was a female cadet who quit because she failed out and instead of owning up to it she made up a story about PMC jerking off horses into mason jars.

I went to grad school with an Aggie alum who was on the logging team that went and cut down the logs for the bonfires back in the day. He said it was an honor to be able to do it the one year he did. He was one of my favorite dudes in my class that suffered together getting our arses kicked completing the grad program.

fish Camp is basically an optional camp they have for incoming Freshman where they teach them the traditions and yells but more importantly try to prepare them for transitioning to college and starting off with a few folks they will know. It's 50/50 guys/girls and they have a mixer every night.

I've heard it has gotten more lame now, don't really know. I remember when I went they had us in a small group and sit in a circle and fill out a sheet of paper with everything you had accomplished in High School. Sports, awards, academics, everything. They collected all the papers and tore them to shreds and said "That is all great but it doesn't mean anything now. No one cares about what you did in High School and everyone is starting fresh." I thought that was a productive exercise.

Class Agents are elected representatives for each class that are in charge of communication and planning reunions and such. Back in my Dad's day it was a much bigger deal because it was all male, all Corps and those guys were very tight. Hell I went to his 35th Reunion and they had over 300 attend, realize that there were only 1000 in his Class and some of those guys died in Vietnam. Point being that those guys were the hard core traditionalists that were super dedicated to A&M and what it represented. My Dad's entire wardrobe after he retired was maroon shirts and khaki pants and he had season tickets to 6 sports while volunteering with at least 3 different school organizations. A lot of guys from his era were like that. Dad was the youngest of 10 out on the farm and A&M gave him a chance for something better and he felt a need to give back until the day he died.

Thus if there was a "jizz jar" tradition he would know about it.
