Aggies, was it known your offense would be bad this season?

I asked this question after your first game against tx state and mostly got crying in response. It was evident then how bad your o was. Large portion of your offense returned from last year, top 5 HC who's an offensive genius, best QB in the conference, etc. Why are they so soft and just plain terrible? It seems like all Rogers did was cry last night when a ball was thrown his way. I think Ausbon was a 5* recruit who appears to have no impact. What's going to improve this offense next year?

OL lost the center to the Saints. The rest of the bunch is big 12 quality. We lack speed at receiver. Most ags would tell you that Rogers needed to sit long ago. Ausbon was a 4star possession receiver that has a knack for falling down as he catches the ball. That leads me to Mond. You think he regrets that statement at SEC media days? For an experienced junior QB, he always looks scared. He is not overly accurate and lacks deep ball abilities. Now, did LSU’s defense play great last night? Hell yes they did and it made these issues worse.

Besides those minor issues, I think it’s ok.

You guys are missing good oline talent like you usually have. You need Turner back asap

I have enjoyed annoying the board and milking this statement. No doubt.

They played way better than i thought they would. They've been soft all season.

Our 2 most talented OL's are Green and Matthews. Both true freshmen.

OL is a position that takes time to build up. Where we screwed up is not recruiting a couple of JUCO or transfers.

Also should have brought in a serious competitor for Mond.

Yes.

Fisher is trying to run his offense with personnel recruited to run Sumlin’s (completely different) offense. We were going to be mediocre for two years, no matter what.

Agreed. Can take a while to mature into that position.

Doesn't look like haynes king will be that guy. Can calzada (think that's his name) be given a fair chance? Coaches love their SR QBs.

Your offense seemed better last year than this year. Too lazy to look up stats to back that up. It's not like sumlin was a bad recruiter. Just a bad coach.

TE really makes the offense go. We were relying on two true fish to start the year and the best one broke his leg off in fall camp. Last year Sternberger was a huge part of the offense.

True but that fish looks great. Cupp may be backing him up next year.

With this OL, we probably need both on the line at the same time.

pretty sure they are close to QB having 3k passing, 1k runner and 1k receiver?

jimbo may never win hardware in tough sec west but he will get better with his guys over next recruiting cycles.

If Mond would play every game like he did the 4Q’s of last year Clemson, last year LSU, and Georgia, we would score a lot of points. He’s just too damn timid and slow.

OL is still a huge concern. Didn’t see a lot of development.

No, bit he was recruiting players suited to a hurry-up offense.

As just one example, he did not focus on the OL, because his offense did not have the QB standing in the pocket long enough to really worry about sacks.

Manziel’s OL was comprised entirely of Sherman recruits. The truly outstanding OL players under Sumlin were legacy guys, such as the Matthews brothers whose Dad was an Aggie. They would have chosen TAMU regardless of the coach. Hell, I doubt he even needed to recruit them.

Bruce Matthews played for USC. That was a wholesale diversion of a massive pipeline.

Games i caught i thought they got better as the year went on. Still shaky at times. Spiller looks like he should be your primary back next year. Can't remember who got hurt early. Oline did fine against scar, then fairly poor against georgia. Never thought they were terrible. Even on quick passes mond seems to overthrow. That's not on the oline.

Losing the starting RB in week 2 and starting TE In fall camp was not expected.

But the O-line was a huge disappointment. No one knew they were going to struggle this much.

You’re a very logical Aggie fan and not unbearable like the many that post here.

I don't remember much about the other guy but spiller looks like your feature back next season. Same with this other TE.
