Does he have more of a pitching, hitting, running or defense focus?

He was a former pitcher for LSU and served as LSU's outfield and catching coach as well as the third base coach.

He can't coach worth a shite. He's am outstanding recruiter though. It's worth it to me to have him coach somewhere else just so he won't be our third base coach.

Seems to be a move that wouldn't have happened if Bianco is the guy.

Haven't people been wanting Cain gone for a bit?

I don't follow.

Cain is relatively young and has no connection to Bianco. Who knows if Bianco would have kept Cain on? Cain played for Paul and never coached for anybody else.

I think Cain just didn't want to wait to find out and figured he'd take the sure thing in hand. It's a good opportunity.

Seems like your drawing a conclusion that fits what you want. Almost all the time new head coaches hire their own staff.

Cain had to take that deal with uncertainty of new coach not retaining him
Pm put a lot of recruiting responsibility on him because he didn’t do it himself
As far as coaching acumen, some players didn’t develop like they should
The hitting has suffered since Cannizzaro left

None of the above

Agreed.

I see where some are thinking Bianco would have retained him.

I guess I agree that it's *more likely* Bianco would have retained him but there was no guarantee either way. Cain was smart and took a sure thing. It's a good opportunity to learn under a seasoned coach like Schloss.
