This is probably a very accurate observation. When you get right down to the heart, it probably describes why he left Alabama too.
Yeah I remember hearing he left because he knew he couldn't live with Bear's shadow/.

Yes, I can see how a thread like this must frustrate you -- bumping one of your fascinating threads about Arky baseball.
But really; post less.

The 1998 class went a combined 27-21. The 1999 class went a combined 30-21. And the 2000 class went a combined 24-25. All the while Cam Newton goes to Auburn for $180,000 and leads his team to a national championship. When we blatantly cheat we suck at it.

After that 02 Iron Bowl i was glad Fran left. That was pathetic letting a 4th string white guy run all over us. I was glad he left plus i always despised that nasal, whining voice of his.

If he still has that website up, he'll tell you if you are a premium member.

The few coaches who failed miserably like Mike Dubose and Mike Shula have not held a head coaching job anywhere else.
Not true. It may have only been Millsaps, but Dubose was highly successful as a head coach there after leaving Alabama. In his four years there from 2006 to 2009 Dubose was 33-10 and either tied or won the conference championship ever year. Twice they were in the Division III playoffs, and twice he was named conference Coach of the Year. In the three years prior to Dubose's arrival, Millsaps was 7-21.
Dubose certainly did fail miserably at Alabama, but he has since proven that he still is capable of being a successful head coach at the right school. Major college football is probably over his head, however.
All of which reminds me of one of my favorite SEC football trivia questions...who has won an SEC football championship more recently...the Tennessee Volunteers or Mike Dubose?
