Honestly, I don't like the format, or to be more specific, the plans to drop their divisions (not that I ultimately care about the ACC). Personally, I think winning a divisional championship is just as wonderful of a goal as winning the actual conference (albeit, it's not as nice). Also, placating the TV executives (who have no real ties to the schools or the fans) or the people that want to play every team every four years isn't the way to go.

I agree. WHY ruin annual games just to see everybody in 4 years. Many formats have kept all annual rivalries & H/A in 6. Is 2 more years an acceptable price to not ruin history?

Win the conference - yes
Win the national championship - absolutely

quote:What annual games are ruined in the 3/6 format? It's ridiculous that Georgia STILL hasn't played a game at Kyle Field, and A&M will be entering its 11th SEC football season. Every team should play every other team home and away in a four year span so that every player who stays four years gets the experience of playing the entire league.quote:

We all claim them in one form or other. Alabama has so many National Championships, though.
The rest of us have to look at divisional championships as an actual achievement....you guys, not so much.
ETA
Oh! And next time a smarty pants (Like me) tries to pull that on you, just point out that Alabama has more National Championships than we have SEC titles. Puts things in perspective.
