"Yesterday I had a conference with all the SEC ADs and presidents, and they reported a range of low single digits to zero percentage of infection, and all the schools are confident they can protect the players." That's paraphrasing even though in quotes because there is no misinterpretation, if someone wants to go find the exact verbatim quote. Contrast that with early first day reports of much higher percentage infection rates, i.e. LSU reported at least 30 players positive, Bama similar, etc.

...and they're all fine and they WANT TO PLAY.

Not all want to play! LSU already had a starter opt out.

Did LSU really report around 30 players tested positive? My understanding was that they had about 30 players who were being quarantined but only a handful had tested positive...

Fine, then don't penalize those who choose not to.
Like the larger population, people need to take agency for themselves and decide their own level of exposure, but don't decide it for everyone.

And LSU should (and is) honor his scholarship. Let those that are comfortable playing, play

Found the exact quote...
quote:
A source told the Advocate that the actual amount of positive tests among players centered around "five or six players." Orgeron refuted the number 30 during his interview with Bobby Hebert and Kristian Garic.
"The number 30 was not correct," Orgeron said. "That was inaccurate. I don't know who said that. It wasn't that high. But we did have a little spike. Now it's going down. I think it's under control. I think it's a fairly low number right now that we're very pleased with. It looks like everything's going smooth for us."
