Just one. We attempted to schedule the Air Force Academy but they said they were booked with some other bad team.

Ticket alert. The Rob Childress farewell tour will be visiting a school in the South near you, soon.

At this rate, they should just go ahead and be like their basketball team. Blame covid so they will not have to lose again.

no, I want Rob to own this team and take his farewell tour. Better lock up your baseball coach soon if he's worth a damn. Oil is up.

Whats going on in College Station? Y'all usually have a pretty good team.

Was this start expected? I don't remember how you guys looked during the short season last year.

It doesn’t do any good to fire Childress - his contract ends this year. It will be interesting to see if he decides to step down. I wonder about the state of the kids on the team

And who is Bjork going to hire? The position is an attractive one, but not elite

We do normally have a good team. We've made a regional for 13 years in a row (?) not counting last year. It was projected to be a down year, but a down year usually means 35+ wins and 7th-10th in the SEC. Not losing record bad. Expected to start 1-3 vs Xavier & ACU? Never. We looked okay last year. 15-3. Won a bunch of games vs bad teams and lost vs the few good ones.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see him go after Jake Gautreau. As much as I want him to stay forever, the guy has proven himself to be a HC in this league. Not to mention, I'm sure Bjork would take pleasure in sticking it to State fans.

That is a name I had not heard thrown out, but a very good option. Top assistant in the country last year and from the great state of Texas.

Part of me would hate to see him go, but he's such a great guy and coach that I would be happy for him. He's well deserving and is imo the main reason we've been to Omaha the last 2 years. I could see a lot of elite programs in need of a new skipper to start to throw his name in the hat. You might even end up in a bidding war with LSU if CPM has a let down this year. LSU will have interest at some point down the road given his Louisiana/Tulane ties.

Fans have been calling for Childress head for at least 5 years. Most expected a down year. I think most are happy that this will finally be the end and he won't squeak into a regional amd save his job again.

He's been good, and better than most of what A&M has had in the past, but they can definitely do better.

He's y'all's Shaka - always doing just enough at the right time to be granted another year. And him getting to the 2017 CWS was like Herman winning the Sugar Bowl.

Luckily, this is the last year of his contract, so short another CWS appearance, he won't keep this job.

He's actually been about the same as Mark Johnson and Tom Chandler.

Chandler 59-84 - 67% win%, 1 CWS births, 5 conference titles
Johnson 85-05 - 67% win%, 2 CWS births, 7 conference titles
Childress 06-21 - 63% win%, 2 CWS births, 3 conference titles

We've been stuck at pretty good forever.

He may be a great coach. No one can win championships at A&M in a major men’s sport.

This is not a flame is a fact.

The problem is that Childress has gotten stale. The recruiting hasn't been up to snuff and it shows. I mean, for a well-know pitching coach the pitching is not very good this year.

None of your drivel is fact. Why such blind hatred for Texas A&M? What dark dark thing happened in you in the past to lose grip on reality and fixate 24/7?

Hard to believe that Texas and Texas A&M don't have a title in the last decade
Too much talent in Texas no excuses
The right coach at either school could be very successful
