Greene definitely with the edge at play action

We used that play several times in his career and was pretty much successful every time. If memory serves:

-first drive against AU in 01, long TD to gibson
-what you linked against vandy in 02, TD
-against GT in 03, long pass to Gibson (no TD, slightly underthrown)
-against SC in 04, game winning TD

I also think we did it with Shockley against UT in 04 to Reggie brown, but shock held it about a half second too long and reggie's foot was out of the back of the endzone.

All I remember is being a kid and seeing Greene just murder people with this play action. He sold the fake so good. If he was a salesmen he'd sell a blind man a pair of glasses.

I think the key difference is that Aaron Murray never got to spoon with David Pollack.

Aaron Murray ain't got time for dat.

I'm disappointed that not a single UG fan has mentioned Murray's winning record against UF yet.

Meh, beating florida is nbd now.

Also, it's odd that the UF coaches they have played against have almost been mirror images. Greene played against Spurrier as a freshman, then 3 years of zook. Murray got one year of Meyer, then 3 years of muschamp.

Aaron Murray did just about everything he could to blow that game last year.

Good thing he threw the game winning TD, and also came up large in 2011 as well. Hell he engineered us back from the dead in 2010 too with a shitty team and took us to OT. Murray is a classic jekyll/hyde case in jacksonville, he'll make some bonehead mistakes but he'll also produce some gems.

Greene didn't play well vs Florida mainly due to bad protection and receivers dropping passes.

Murray's mistakes on the other hand have been completely self-inflicted. He was just fortunate enough that his defense came to play and put him in position to win the game which, to his credit, he's delivered more times than not.

Give me Greene just because of the Hobnail Boot game.

Also, I dont know if yall knew this, but David Greene and David Pollack played peewee football together, and they also were roommates in college.

I am too, lived about a half mile from SGHS. I take it you went to brookwood? Unless I've got my roads mixed up, haven't lived there in a while.

Actually, I moved to Roswell and went to HS there after my parents divorced but I think we lived in the Brookwood district at the time. Not completely sure though.

IT should also be noted that the OL for Greene his first two years was better than anything Murray has had to work with so far. When the OL turned over in his third year, Greene came back down to earth again a bit.

Greene started his career with a very stable OL that allowed him to stand in the pocket. Murray started his career running for his life usually, oh, and until last year some truly horrific run games.
