Look im not the LSU fan that says this only effects us, I realize we will benefit in years in which UF is down( see Ron Zook). However, I still think it makes sense to find the most balanced schedule. Period.

The problem is you guys only seem to care to find the most balanced "solution" when Florida is good. If Florida was Auburn-level every year and Tennessee was a powerhouse would you guys be complaining?

WDE24,Why would you have a problem scheduling UGA as a non-conference game on years they aren't on your schedule?

Sorry, got mad for a second.

Uh, except for a year or 2 they pretty much have been a top 10 team for the past 2 decades with no sign of dropping off anytime in the near future. Am I wrong?

No, but that is a terrible argument for why the most balanced system shouldn't be in place

..and how are those sports doing in revenue in comparison to SEC football?

Do you really think the reasoning for this is because they allow them to play conference opponents that dont counts towards conference records?

Do you really think you can take a mega-sport like CFB and apply "non-conference" matchups to it simply because it is done in a sport that not a single person gives a damn about.

I wouldn't, but I like having them as a conference game better. Conference game > non-conference game

Also, I would like to see LSU play UGA and UT more often.

How was I supposed to know that those games were that close? It just seems to me it shouldn't be like that...would MSU be a better argument? I know UF has a poor record, recently, against Auburn...Hell I tried my best

I honestly dont see how Bama playing UT in a game that doesn't count towards conference records would effect anything.

Are LSU fans the only ones that care about a fair and balanced schedule?

I', sure A&M cares a little considering it is the only reason Bama played for the National Championship over them

What I don't understand is why a team as accomplished and good as LSU is scared of UF.

Why do you keep using the terms "scared" or "afraid"?

LSU fans aren't playing in the games vs Florida. They don't have to worry about a Dominique Easley body slamming them to the ground.

LSU people just want what they believe is better for the conference. And there's nothing scared about it. They want diversity; going to Gainsville every other year gets kind of old. At least for me it does.

Or maybe it is because one team lost to LSU at home and one beat LSU on the road.

Happen to notice A&M's schedule this year?

I'd love to play at UF every other year if it meant that we got to play UK and Vandy less.

FWIW- from 1992 - 2007 UT was 152-48 while UF was 157-46.

It has only been the last 5 years that UT has been down that makes it feel inequitable. The cycle will likely change and UT will be good again in a couple of years.

Why don't the SEC teams play every school like the big 12? I am sure Bama wouldn't like this as the last 4 years they have had a pussy schedule! This year Vandy, Ky., & Tenn. WOW just WOW !!! :rimshot:

Yep, clearly this isn't about a Bama obsession and is LSU just looking out for what is best for the conference.

Oh really? Looks to me like since 1990, Florida has finished ranked in the top 13 18 out of 23 times, with the 5 times outside included 3 of Ron Zook fail years, and then the other 2 were Urban Myers last year and Muschamp first year. I would say that's pretty much as close to perennial top 10 team as you can find for a period of nearly 25 years.

Florida since 1990
