I remember watching my first college football game on color tv back in 1965 or '66 at neighbors house...it was a Bama-UGA game and a darn good one. Have they played each other since?

They have scheduled 14 times since that game.
LSU has scheduled UGA 12 times during the same period.

vs UGA(games)

Bama- 66
UF - 90
LSU - 29

vs Big6

Bama - 350
UF - 321
LSU - 243

UF has scheduled the #1 SEC team(Bama) only 30 times. Why do the duck the best competition, other than their 10-20 record vs Bama in those games.

LSU has played UT(#2 SEC team) only 32 times and UGA only 29 times. Bham SEC office

How about keeping Bama/Tenn and UGA/AU and everybody else that wants to rotates?

How about Miles grow some balls and stop complaining because he has to play a tough team?

This is the SEC, if he wants easy competition he should've went to Michigan.

I like seeing LSU play Florida every year. Like someone said earlier I don't think people would be complaining as much if Tennessee wasn't so terrible.

Can we just play UT, AU, UF, UGA, LSU, aTm, USC, and Ark every year?

Well IDK what that means, but if TAMU had gotten to play Vandy last year instead of Florida, they would have been in the SEC title game with a chance to beat UGA for the national championship.

Schedule does matter, we all know it does. Some of us complain about it a lot more than others (LSU fans) but it does matter.

I actually want to see LSU-UF continue annually. However, under the current setup, you'd have to be a mental midget to claim it doesn't put LSU at a decided disadvantage scheduling wise.

Instead of doing away with cross division rivals, do what Spurrier said and just make your division games count toward SEC standings. That way you can preserve your LSU-UF, AU-UGA, and Bama-UT games, but a team isn't penalized in the SEC West for a loss to an SEC East opponent. That, to me, seems like the easiest fix.

It's not about playing one tough team. It's about playing one more tough team from the East and having our West standing penalized if we lose.

Just depends on the season. AU is at a greater disadvantage most years than LSU, but you don't see AU fans and admin whining incessantly.

Just because AU doesn't stick up for itself doesn't mean LSU shouldn't. And LSU and its AD should not stop until the issue is addressed. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil. Plus, it seems as though more coaches are coming around to our side.

I see what you did there. Trying to avoid playing TAMU to keep a perfect record.

Well here are the stats since 1992 when the conference went to a title game.

UF and Alabama have played 13 times since 1992 and Alabama has a slight 7-6 advantage. Of those 13 games, 7 have been played in the SECCG where UF holds a 4-3 advantage.

LSU has played Florida 21 times, going 7-14 in that span with ALL of them being regular season games.

LSU has played Georgia 9 times, going 4-5, 3 of which were in SEC titles games where LSU is 2-1.

Alabama has only played Georgia 7 times, with 1 being an SEC title game where they won obviously. So both Alabama and LSU have played UGA 6 times during the season since 1992.

Alabama playing Tennessee more often in the 90's evens out that decade a bit, since Tennessee was actually good then, but basically what I'm trying to say nicely is that your analysis is shite.

If changes are made, I like Spurrier's idea the best.

We just do it on the field (or at least try). I prefer as many tough opponents as possible on the schedule. It is more fun and something to be proud of. LSU fans and admin have taken what should be a challenge and point of pride and made themselves look weak.

However, if your bitching brings forth a 9 game SEC schedule, then I will be happy for the result.

You think Bama fans are going to be scared of UT and wanting out of the yearly game because UT beats them?

UT could beat them 6 in a row and Bama fans wouldn't be looking to duck the game.

I disagree completely. Every team in the SEC should want equity when it comes to scheduling. You should make it to Atlanta based on merit, not because of scheduling. LSU isn't "scared" to play UF; it's not equitable for LSU to play an additional top 10 SEC East team, and then be penalized in the SEC West standings should we lose it. Doesn't compute.

Someone still doesn't understand the concept of a rivalry

Where were you during the late 90s and early 2000s? We lost more than our fair share against them. We still weren't wanting to get rid of the game. If anything, it made us want to play them more so we could try to beat them.
