It would be "out of conference", but yalls obsession with bama's schedule blinds your "reason"

Well when you have your blinders on and can only use one team for your argument, it's pretty obvious.
A&M last year says hi. Usc a few years ago says hi, too. Blinders you say? It adversely affects other teams not named LSU.

I understand, y'all want to become one of the "have nots" of the sec. Hey if you want to join them that's okay. Makes room for aTm to become one of the "haves".

Except that the poster I was responding to (context) insinuated a different reason.
Well, I would argue that his insinuation is valid as well. If Tenn. had become and continued to be a dominant program, I highly doubt that Bama fans would be arguing so strongly for this "traditional rivalry" to be maintained every season. Perhaps I'm just old and cynical.
The hell we wouldn't. You obviously don't know very much about the rivalry between the two.

Me neither.

What's this even mean?

it would be out of division and therefore treated more appropriately
Spurrier seems to get it.

Do y'all even know what you are arguing at this point? What does am and USC have to do with yalls bama schedule obsession?

A few years ago Usc missed Atlanta bc of a loss to a west team. This is when spurrier brought this up... Before LSU did.

But it had nothing to do with permanent rivals or even them having a tough west schedule. They lost to a bad AU team.

Re-read the thread. I think my stance has been clear that this is not just Bama related.

I wish Chicken would put a moratorium on 'schedule' threads, or create a another board for it.

Here's history for you, in '91 LSU had already played more games in its history against Arkansas than UGA, UT or Auburn.
Why is UGA hiding behind Auburn to keep from playing LSU more?
Could it be because LSU has a winning record in the o/a series with them?
Could it be UT is hiding behind Alabama because they don't want to lose their series advantage against LSU?
Why are so many teams so scared to play LSU more?
The world waits in wonder...

I have no problem with LSU's complaint about the schedule. I love the game and don't want to see it end, but you can't ignore the imbalance we see year in and year out in SEC schedules. You should not have that much disparity within a conference, and something needs to be done.

You can't be serious, but I really think you believe this. Good stuff.

I do love the Florida/LSU game and would hate to see it fall by the wayside. It has been a part of my life and makes for great prime time entertainment especially over the last decade.
If we adopt the Spurrier solution we can keep the game and not end up with goofy arse schedules like 2013 which are grossly unfair to some teams (UGA, LSU, Florida) compared to others (Bama, A&M, USC).
