Lunatic you are the most sensible LSU fans. I’m so sorry this is happening to you.

Eh ... he may have some success. A change of scenery has worked for other coaches. I just don't think that he will ever be as successful as Godwin, McDonnell, Vitello or Sully.

Sully going down fast. Bianco is a better coach based on recruiting alone imo.

He will be a champion at LSU. Sometimes it’s the school. Or in Ole Miss’ case it’s always the school.

It can absolutely work. His biggest fall out is his in game decisions. If he puts people around him to help that can help him he could do great there

May depend on his staff. You never know.

What I would say about this deal, if it ends up being Bianco, is that it ought to disabuse everyone of thinking that Woodward has some kind of magic touch when it comes to hiring. He got Jimbo thanks to a long friendship, FSU administrations decade of frick ups, and piles of money (you'll see this one again). He got Mulkey thanks to a Louisiana connection, her ego needing feeding after the men's team upstaged her, and piles of money. Without a connection, or a disgruntled high profile coach who is without debilitating baggage (I'm looking at you KOS), the piles of money and his charm aren't enough. He's mortal like the rest of them.

Rebs play by play guy was just on BR radio and says he thinks the pressure around the postseason failures has gotten into the heads of players and fans when it gets to the 7th inning or so in a close game. He said the fans get nervous instead of trying to urge the team on.

He also said fans argue with him about it but he knows that he's right.

Eta: It wasn't the play by play guy. It was the editor of rebelgrove.com.

He will have the most talented team, top to bottom, that he’s ever had next year. He was one win away from Omaha this year with one and a half pitchers and the worst defensive team he’s ever had. I wouldn’t bet against him.

Guys has been 1 win away from Omaha a few times. Always falls on his face.

Bottom line is he is a choke artist when it counts. It's ironic because LSU good ole boy network wants him because he played for Skip, but Skip was the opposite of that.

I’ve watched all those games, only one could reasonably called a choke. If anything he’s run out of bullets, and that should never be an issue at LSU short of some crazy injury year.

I don't get this line of thinking. Ole Miss gets great baseball talent. It's not like he'd be going from a shitty program to one finally with talent.

I know we recruit better than Ole Miss, but it's like going from top 10/15 talent to top 5. He should've accomplished more in the postseason with Ole Miss' talent, fan support, and facilities. That is a big time program that he built 2 decades ago but hasn't been able to push it over the top.

We don't need a program builder, we need a champion.

The year we lost to Texas in the supers was 100% choke. That was one of the most talented OM baseball teams I've seen. Theres no reason why we shouldn't have gone to Omaha that year.
