I'm not sure what he did there for yall to have been excited to get rid of him. The dude has been lights out since coming to Auburn. We are FINALLY back to playing old school Auburn defense like we had grown accustomed to when Dye and Tubberville were coaching. Our front 7 has been the best I've seen at Auburn in a long, long time.

He's been really good. It seems to be a situation where both fan bases are happy with what they ended up getting.

I admit, Steele has really surprised me as a DC [edit]. Your cast off McGriff, not so much.

I guess it was just learning a new scheme? Also, Chavis has turned us into a smaller faster defense that played a lot of man to man. Being undersized in the front 7 doesn’t work well for most D coordinators in the SEC.

IIRC, Steele ran a lot of zone D and we had a lot of busted assignments too.

If he didn't leave when he did, he would have been fired

Because Gus went full motherfricking retard in the 2nd half of the LSU game. I guarantee you that lesson got learned and played out last night.

Not surprising. He was solid at clemson until they got embarrassed in the bowl by wvu. Rumored to be on Dooleys list to replace wilcox until that happened. Then UT ended up with sunseri, but UT should have gone with him for cheap since he was fired. Damn you hart.

Now I'm hoping Steele is on top of UTs HC list if gruden doesn't work out of course...ha. So auburn if yall beat and/or handle bama defensively know there's a good chance Steele may be gone after this year.

Thanks for taking Steele so we could get Aranda and for blowing that 20 point lead.

Steele had a surprisingly very solid season at LSU but like most LSU fans I am happy with Aranda.

Steele caught the short end of the stick while he was there. didn't have the defensive talent that LSU was used to having that year.

Steele also walked into Muschamps loaded defensive recruiting classes, esp on the dline.

At Lsu he walked into Chavis’ depleted dline and lb core
