On the next season football schedule.

It would be such a pleasure to go to an all P5 schedule and a minimum of 9 SEC conference games.

Same. We probably need those couple of games to break in the new coaches.

One guess who the only SEC coach to vote for a 9-game conference was the last time it was brought up.

Every week of this past season was entertaining knowing that every SEC team was playing a conference opponent. The only thing I like about those crappy OOC games are getting to see the backups get some playing time.

Pretty much.

At least we're playing 2 OOC P5's but I wish we'd rotate GT with a BIG school or some other ACC school like UNC.

There isn't much to be gained by playing em every year.

All schools should be required to play a minimum of 2 OOC schools annually

It’s scheduling the FCS schools that are annoying AF.
There’s no need to apologize for playing BYU, Houston, or UCF. But Ga Southern?

I am. Better chance to see some of the younger players and/or not have to be tied to the tv on a fall afternoon.

Not me, I like the tune up games and the bunny before rivalry week.

What it ultimately comes down to.

The lower half of the league, that figures to go 2-6 or 3-5 in conference, relies on those games to get bowl eligible.

They're not signing up for a harder schedule.

It also increases revenue since most of those shitty OOC games are played at home.

Would severely piss me off if I was a season ticket holder though.

I enjoyed the SEC slate, even as rough as it was.

The problem is in a normal year we'd absolutely get slammed for having multiple losses and would miss out on a bowl even though it was pretty clearly proven that SEC teams with a losing record IN conference can defeat Top 25 teams from other conferences who have played a softer record.

They would love to not give us the benefit of the doubt.

OOC games are ruining college football. The tired response “it gives small schools a good payday” has no weight in my opinion here. I’m not watching a crap game because small schools I don’t care about get money

Hate watching them but they are a boring necessity. With out them thousands of student athletes would lose the ability to go to college. The small schools rely on them to fund their athletic departments.

Yall's AD's could man-up and schedule schools like Clemson and Notre Dame and Oklahoma and whatnot. You don't need the SEC to mandate that you do it. Just do it. Unless you're scared.

What would make it more interesting for me, as a Georgia fan, is if we tried to keep our cupcakes in-state. KSU, GSU, Southern.

4 OOC and one is always GT right?

That leaves three. We always try to get a decent one like Clemson/ND/Oklahoma/UNC etc.

That leaves two spots. Why have UAB or Kent State when we can get GSU/Southern/KSU?

A lot of the players actual know and are friends with each other, played together, schooled together, etc.

We could even find a way to turn those into our personal farm teams.

Georgia Southern is in the Sun Belt ergo they aren’t FCS.

WRONG

A playoff that doesn’t include all conference winners is what’s killing CFB. If you want every game to matter you have to make winning your conference the most important thing for the regular season. You’d actually get more P5 vs P5 matchups w/all conference winners getting in b/c they would be tie breakers for wild card teams.

I am so old I remember when Coach Bryant had VT or Miami setup for homecomings each year. Don Strock or Chuck Foreman.
