You can't take a coach that was sub .500 against the decent teams in that other "power conference" and expect people to rank him with the top SEC coaches. I guess I'll be the one to say it, but the B10 has been a fricking joke for years, and you're delusional for not agreeing.

I'm not saying he's not a good coach, but he doesn't deserve a ranking where y'all obviously think he belongs.

You're right it is. But even taking that into account it's easy to rank him ahead of those coaches

If we're talking about the best coach I don't see how anybody can't see Spurrier is clearly number one. Championships aside that guys gone places and won where there wasn't already a history of doing so at that institution.

exactly. BB will do fine if all they want is someone who can dominate Mississippi State, Kentucky, Missouri and Auburn. if they are expecting much more than that though they are in for a pretty big disappointment.

Sumlin beat Bama in his first year and Franklin got Vandy to 9 wins.

Still not comparable to BB's

It's not an equitable comparison because we're not talking about a new coach at LSU. We have a much better program than you do.

only because he dropped some games this season, all by FGs or in OT. before this year, he had a winning record over those schools.

That's rude.

But a coach at a school that doesn't have the tradition of tOSU, UM, or Penn State is probably not going to have a winning record against the best competition because of all the disadvantages. Right at or right under .500 is not a bad accomplishment at all at a school like UW.
