Most football fans know the story of the Junction Boys. That Bear Bryant Texas A&M team won only one game that year beating the number 4 ranked team in the country. That team will remain unnamed.

It wouldn't surprise me.

That team was Georgia in 1954 (lost 6-0 on Oct.2nd); however, UGA wasn't ranked #4. In fact, UGA wasn't even ranked in the top 20 for that season, neither in the Sept.20th, Sept. 27th, or Oct.4th AP polls that season. UGA finished the year 6-3-1, while A&M finished 1-9.

I got that info from the radio so you could be correct. I researched the AP Poll for 54 and Georgia’s highest ranking that year was #20.
