college fB coaches of all time. He coached against the Bear while the DC at UT and said Bear and did not mention anyone else. This is a man whose mentor is Bobby Bowden and he did not even mention Bobby.
So to this group of "xperts" I ask the same question.

Hey whaddya know. An old man thinks things back in his day were the best things and has little thoughts on current things.

So he didn't even say anything about the remaining 4?
Guy must be a bad arse.

I’m worried about that guy’s mental health if he couldn’t even remember five names.

1. Bear
2. Houston Nutt
3. Chad Morris (could move up depending on number of titles)
4. Saban
5. Les Miles (tough place to win, fan expectations are unreasonable)

Wow! Who is this genius of college football coaching??? We must know!!!
Self affirmation of stupid shite from anonymous old people is a sign of extremely low self confidence.

“The old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren’t being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country’s future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief.”
Coach Bryant......man was he correct

I said it before, Saban would not have as many NCs under the System that Bear Bryant played under. Bobby Bowden would have more than Saban if he played under the Playoff System.

Gonna pick a name from slightly before my youth, and one who got his gig around the time I graduated college.
Bob Devaney
Bill Snyder
Obviously Bear Bryant belongs up there, maybe even the best.
But Devaney took a team that had been down for a decade or more (and was just decent to pretty good at best in the past), and turned them into a blueblood.
Bill Snyder took Kansas State, a team who had never accomplished much, and was in as deep a hole as can be imagined when he took the job. And has has them winning conference titles or at least being relevant the whole time he's been there. All in a recruiting position that makes Mississippi State look like it is in the catbird seat.

Not sure how you can argue that Saban isn't better than Bear.
I don't think there will ever be another stretch of dominance that matches what Saban is doing at Alabama

the point to you morons making fun of the former coach is that he thought Bear was clearly ahead of any others and he left it at that.
To the idiot that talks about me dribbling about Bear, I did not religiously follow college football until the 80's. So my stories about the bear come from history and two friends of mine who played for the Bear

What's your argument here? Most people say that the main component in Saban's success is his ability to recruit more talented players than everyone else. With no scholarship limitations wouldn't his talent differential be even more insane?
