That is going to be one hot day. I wonder if that plays into our game vs Washington. They don't get those types of temperatures and we are sure damn used to the heat. Your thoughts?
ETA. With Ethan Small being our ace, do you take your chance and throw Pilkington and save Small for game two to give yourself best shot at winners bracket? I can see both sides.

It’s baseball. They barely even sweat in the first place.

Are they performing before the first game?

Dude, pitchers do. Even in 85 degree heat you see them wiping sweat. So I disagree. It's gonna be 98 degrees tomorrow and still hot hot hot even by our gametime.

It's suppose to be 96 degrees at 7pm according to acuweather. Only a 2 degree drop.
ETA: Heat can take a lot out of you if you are not used to that heat. For what its worth, it was 70 in Washington and tomorrows high 72 in washington. Compare that to 98 degrees. Just saying...

That’s standard baseball weather.
If Washington can’t hang, they ought to be sent back to their drizzly & dreary coastal state of perdition.

Small is pitching tomorrow.

The fact that much of the season it did not even look possible to make the Sec tourney much less a regional, I would save Small for game 2 and roll the dice. That's just me. There are some damn good teams in this CWS and I'd just take my chances and go for broke.

No humidity like down here, tho. That should help some.

This kind of heat can affect pitchers, but it's not like they're playing football.

Didn't Kershaw lose something like 9 pounds during game 1 of the World Series last year when it was 103 outside?

I would much rather pitch Small against Oregon St. or NC, both national seeds. Either way we're going to face one of them in the 2nd game, winners or losers bracket and I would rather have Small who is pitching better at this point face either one of them. We go to the winners bracket and win we don't have to play again until Friday. We get in the losers bracket and we may need Small to keep us from going 2 and Q.

98 degrees in Omaha is not 98 degrees in the South. It's hot but not sticky hot. Plus, the sun is starting to go down.

Heat will matter more for our 3pm game, though it will be hot at night too. Hoping the heat throws pedo and his boys off their game.
