Pretty bold to refer to the Jacksonville front office as "professionals"

Dude. You’re arguing with fans of a team that will never sniff the playoffs.

Players do taunt each other pregame but not many of them actually go across the field to where their opponent is warming up and get in their faces, talking trash and showing their rear. Your boy did and was it ever sweet to see him boohooing when it was all over.

Oh please.......

Your players aren't b*tches standing there with their hand behind their back like "dindunuffin". Ain't nobody buying that. No SEC team doesn't talk shite. Accept it. It's who you are, and people respond. Just like when Florida's dipshit talked trash on us in the media before he got his shite pushed in. Your teams can't keep their mouths shut. They never do.....

This is a fair assessment. I can go along with this. I don't know if he should have been a #1 overall pick....but I don't follow the NFL. He was a great player, and I do know enough to know that in the NFL the very best player does not get picked #1 often. Picks are not determining who the better player is, but meet the picking teams needs.

I do tend to think Walker is possibly one fo the top 5-10 players in the draft, but even then that is very subjective.

TLDR
I agree with your assessment and think it is fair.

Sure I can get Walker in the first round, but to give the biggest rookie salary of 2022 to a guy that has not demonstrated a body of work at the position he is drafted for, is a risk not worth taking given the huge number of good edge rushers available....

He was literally about the 7th best player on that D. He is a Combine warrior.

You're too hung up on statistics. Scouts tend to look at what is asked of a player and if that player did what is asked of him and how well he did it. They also look at what might be asked of him for a particular team.

I asked before, so I will ask again...who would you have picked at #1?

Are you being purposely obtuse? You have been told twice by me and once by CharlotteSooner that Walker was not/is not an edge rusher.

If you saw somewhere that Baker Mayfield had a LB beside his name would you insist they had selected him to play LB?

I watched enough to see he didn't do shite and was never even in the discussion for #1 until after the combine.

You sound like someone who learned about football through the Madden video game.

Walker lined up everywhere from 0 tech to 7 tech.
He covered runningbacks on wheel routes to shallow zone.
He made plays with short burst power and with hustle 25 yards downfield.
He stunts and takes 2 blockers freeing up loopers for clean hits on the QB. And he loops from the 0 tech around the tackle to hit a QB as he hits his 5 step drop.

Ultimately, he enables the defense to control the line of scrimmage with 4 front defenders which is how superbowls are won.

Then at best you have a rudimentary understanding of football. I guess I'll never understand why people think they can peg a player's worth to statistics. Yes, they're important, but they are not the do all/end all.

And ftr? It's not totally unusual for a player mocked to go 1st overall to drop and others take their place post combine.

When you said he was the 7th best player on our defense you told us all we needed to know about your football acumen.

He was drafted #1 because he had a fast 40. We all know that to be true. He does not have a body of work as an edge rusher. He was drafted TO BE AN EDGE RUSHER. It is a risk to draft somebody to be something they have not demonstrated they can be. You can go ahead and do so but to do so at #1 , and then pay him the biggest salary of all of the2022 draftees is insane. Just check with the experts they mostly say the same thing....The experts say he was maybe justified at 8 thru 10 but was still a risk...
