Seen the 85 and 65 Bears play trust me no 85 pro team can hang with any of the better NCAA teams today simple because of the size and speed difference. These athletes today on a whole other level.
Dumb is not being aware of that fact.
One of my fav Bears

You still haven't told me who is going to tackle Walter Payton.

Walter Payton would get mauled his lack of quickness totally exposed. So....gang tackled.
ONE MORE TIME
College kids beat NFL teams back then, now think....ok?
Think what the 2021 Alabama team would do to the 1985 Alabama team.

Walter Payton ran a 4.4 which would put him among the faster RBs in the NFL.

You ever see Payton play, his thing wasn't about speed, that was Sayers.
His line would get destroyed and he'd have no place to go. Not one 300 pounder out there, think about that.

His combination of speed and power was his thing.
You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

Dude, saw Payton at Jackson State, ok?
Keep in mind what he did back then was done vs smaller and slower athletes than what we have today, you don't seem to get that fact.
Long time football fan, ok?

Just look at the difference at QB today than back in the day, hell, Jim McMahan vs Justin Fields when it comes to being an athlete.
These athletes today totally superior to guys way back when with a few exceptions like Bob Hayes.
the 2021 Bama team has 18 300 pounders on it, that 85 Bears team....one.

This just isn't true.
The weight differences will average about 20lbs, but only in some lineman and not much difference than today.
But that is lineman. When it comes to other positions, like LBs, it's not really the case at all.
Furthermore, you seem to be confused about the size of Alabama, especially when it comes to 300lb players. You keep trying to compare the weight of the 2021 Bears for some dumb reason. There aren't that many 300lb+ starters for 2021 Alabama. Like 3 total maybe on offense and defense? And one of them is Chris Owens, and everyone just runs around him.

So? You think you are the only person to see these teams play? What if I happen to be an older Bears fan?

Justin Fields wouldn't have even been drafted in the 80s. He wouldn't have been tough enough.

So he can play vs the monsters he faced in the NCAA but couldn't handle the smaller, slower, weaker players in the 80's, hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!
Sure a lot of rookies here, ha!!!

I think the bigger questions is - could a team from today even finish a game vs any NFL team from the 80s.
IDK man, I think I have to disagree with you on this one.
Apparently the Bears averaged 28.5 ppg and gave up 12.4.
I think with today's offenses, that second number sky-rockets, and I'm not sure they could keep pace.
You're right about their physicality (like Singleton), but I'm not sure they were conditioned for today's track meets.
Not to take anything away from those guys, of course, it was just a different era.

Notice the difference there, it's like that in all sports. A totally different athlete today than back in the 80's.
