No. 8: REX GROSSMAN, QB (1999-2002)

The skinny: Because he was mediocre in the NFL, it's easy to forget how good Grossman was in college. At least before Ron Zook got ahold of him. In Steve Spurrier's final season, Grossman was the Heisman runnerup after passing for 3,896 yards and 34 touchdowns. He holds the Gator record for most 300-yard passing games.

Also put a thumping on the Saban coached Tigers in Red Stick 44-16 in 2001. Grossman's stats were 22/32 for 464 yards 5 TD's and 1 int.

Still waiting for him to line up at left tackle too.

Chris Collins. Played during Eli's tenure & was the definition of a security blanket.

I thought that guy would have a 10 year NFL career. He never made a roster. Just shows how good Eli really was

A good one of Duke Johnson leading his team to victory in 2013:

I thought so too. Same thing with Doug Zeigler who was the TE at the time. I think Collins was just too slow for the NFL. He could just get open more times than not & Eli didn't miss many throws.

Grossman was incredible. I thought the guy was the next elite QB for sure when he went to the NFL.

LSU - Trindon Holliday
Fastest man in the universe.

Non LSU - Justyn Ross (Alabama native)

6 rec, 153 yards, 1 TD in the CFP National Title Game (as a freshmen)
Very fun to watch.

He was great. I still can’t believe he didn’t convert that 2 point conversion at the end of the ‘01 game. That Florida team was so good
