5-5 record this year equals an 8-4 record normal year.

That’s kind of hard to wrap your head around.

This assuming you go 4-0 non-con in normal years

In your example winning 4 ooc, winning 4 conf, and losing 4 would be 33%, 5-5 is 50%

So what's a 2-8 equate to?

Asking for a friend.

Agreed. 8-4 sounds like a decent season for most teams but it usually just means you won half your conference games. We are about to find out how well SEC fans would actually like a 9 or 10 game conference schedule in the future. My guess is they won't like it as much as they think once they realize it probably means their team is already irrelevant after the first month of the season. Most SEC fans are used to going into week 5 as a 4-0 or 3-1 team. That won't happen this year.

I can't disagree with that. If any team can go undefeated it might be Alabama this year but I kind of doubt that. I wouldn't be surprised if the SEC Champion had 2 losses and would still be a serious NC contender.

UCF MIGHT be able to beat Vandy. If Vandy had a rash of injuries and UCF got all the breaks, maybe.

Other than that? UCF couldn't win two games against an SEC schedule. Even Arkansas would kick your arse without prejudice.
