4th and goal
Who else would be furious throwing a fade if it was your team?

You’re better than this Bo! You had 5 options...

I agree. Absolutely HORRIBLE call there…

re: 4th and goal
You throw that pass if you have a superstar WR. Even then it is 50/50. I remember Mike Shula throwing that route three straight times in a Bama OT game. Never understand why Coaches love that route.

Spurrier did it 3x times against us in 2009 against Marquis Johnson.

Was that the clipboard and visor moment?

Also, they were targeting Alshon Jeffrey, so at least that part made some sense.

Something they see in the NFL that works there. I hate to see it when a team is first and goal from the one. Too many things can go wrong.

As a coach, possibly.

With a QB who can run, a great RB and average WRs.....it certainly felt like the sweet spot for a 4th and goal from the 2 would at the very least involve a run pass option.

re: 4th and goal
Mike Bobo is Gus Malzahn of Derek Dooleys.

I hated his play calling and game plans. He shite the bed when it counted every dayum time. Frustrating as hell. I predicted he would fail as a HC and start his downward spiral. The blind Dawg faithful Types defended him and called him the GOAT.

My dislike for him has turned into joy and admiration now that he is calling plays for the Barners. Hope he stays forever. It will cost them a couple of games a season they should have won.

You have a running back like Tank Bigsby (or Jarquez Hunter for that matter), you don't throw a fade there. Not the smart play.

Its just a guess, but im thinking they're seeing the play ending with

1.TD
2.Interference/1st and goal
3.turnover on downs

66% chance of a favorable outcome

Sure, if you think each of those has an equal chance of happening. I don't think they do unless you have a great jump ball receiver on the outside.

Now breakdown the chances of each of those individually happening during a play. .
