Mizzou was swept by Florida at the end of the season and Florida has a higher RPI.

I have a feeling that NCAA probation deal hurt Mizzou

Probably, but the post season ban and NCAA penalties are ridiculous and way over the top. They must be fought for integrity reasons win or lose.
