There are more players on both teams that didn't get into the participation report that will be drafted also, or could reasonably expect to.

Rasco, La'el Collins weren't on LSU's report. Jalen Collins was redshirting.

There are also bunch that signed UFA deals.

ETA: Ronald Martin also didn't make the report and Micah Eugene was redshirting. That's 3 DBs that have shown great ability and can develop into draftable players that couldn't scratch out a few plays as freshmen because there were 6 NFL draftees in the LSU secondary at that time.

Damn. 9 of our defensive starters in 2011 were drafted. 4 1st rounders. If only Faulk hadn't been injured. He would have been on of if not the top OT in the draft.

ETA: all 9 in the first 3 rounds

Memphis, that's pretty damn badass! One of the more talented defenses in SEC history.

Someone needs to do a defensive depth chart with only the Bama and LSU players that have been drafted recently- last 3-4 years. I know there is potential for a good discussion on this but the potential for a flame fest is pretty much a given. I'll work on it after I get back from a meeting I've got.

A New thread idea: depth chart for the drafted defensive players off of Bama and LSU ? Can it be done without the predictable troll post?

I think so. This thread has been pretty neutral.

Sadly, I'm afraid the 4-3, 3-4 thing is going to make this a rather futile exercise.

Blue, Loston, Beckham, Landry, Barrow, and La'El Collins were contributors on that team and all will likely be drafted.

That's not the stat

37 of the 43 starters (Gamble played both ways for OSU) in the 2002 game were drafted

That will be hard to beat

The Starting Lineup: combined from both teams (2011 Team Only-drafted or projected) players:
Offense:

QB- AJ McCarron
RB- T-Rich
RB- Spencer Ware/Eddie Lacey/Belue
WR-Rueban
WR-Landry
WR-? D.White?
TE-Smelley/Edwards
C- B-Jones
G- Warmack
G- Blackwell/Steen/?
T- Fluker
T- Hurst/Faulk

Defense:- Due to Different Schemes- I will have 4 D-Line and 4-LB's- even though that would make 12-We could add a 3rd CB for the nickel because both teams ran that a lot?

D-Line-Mingo
D-Line-Montgomery
D-line-Jesse Williams
D-Line-Logan/Freak?
LB-D.Hightower/CJ?
LB-Minter
LB-Upshaw
LB-Nico
S-E.Reid
S-M-Barron
CB-Claiborne
CB-DreKirk

Nickeback- Tyran/Milliner

Seems like TE is lacking a "great player" from both teams.

That would be a pretty damn good team!

Feel free to add your own, edit mine and etc.

How do you leave off Bama's most important receiver in the NCG?

Agree, the Edwards that got drafted for LSU played DE. Though he probably could have been an alright TE if that where they put him.

I guess that's the difference between LSU/Bama and most other places. If Lavar Edwards went to school out west, we'd have seen him catching passes. He goes to LSU, starts maybe a handful of games in his career, and still gets drafted.

And based on Hurst's meltdown, Faulk would get that spot free and clear IMO. But he messed up his knee and left school early since all his friends were gone.

I'd put Brockers at DT before anyone else on either team.

And I'm pretty sure you could make a defense that consisted only of DBs from each team that would still dominate.
